Caruso, is an italian song, written, composed and performed in 1986 by Lucio Dalla as a tribute to Enrico Caruso, the most famous tenor of his time (late 19th / early 20th century). He was the first global singing superstar. The story is about the last days of Enrico Caruso, he knows he is dying, and he is remembering all his career on stage and telling his much younger wife how much he loves her. It has very quickly become a classic of italia music and the biggest names have covered it (Julio Iglesias, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, …. and of course Luciano Pavarotti). Even Metallica covered it 😂 But for many, Lara's version from the concert From Lara With Love 2000 kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIGVfKGCmtKHbZo is the best ever, as she was able, with her unique ability to convey the emotions of a song, to reveal the real sad story written by Lucio Dalla. I was told that Lucio Dalla himself, after hearing this performance, said that she made it her song and this is the best version he has heard from it. For Lara, this song is really important as this is a kind of anthem for Italy, and she is so much connected to this country. She spent the first few years of her life there with her sicilian mother and grandma. Her husband is also sicilian. She also as been living there for the past few months since the end of 2022.

She is native in french and italian, completely fluent in english speaking and Spanish. She writes songs in these 4 languages. Then she speaks a bit of dutch, russian and portuguese. She has sung in a total of 12 languages. She is a language genius !

You could choose any song from her En Toute Intimite 2003 concert and you won't change your opinion. Her cover of "Aznavour's Comme Ils Disent is brilliant IMO, or Callin'' You, or Bambina... they are all wonderful! En Toute Intimite is in my opinion her best concert. Some people suggest Yentl Medley from her Pure concert, this is a bit earlier.

I know you said you are intending to review some more recent Lara and that is great but there is one even older performance youmust see. It is Lara's performance of Barbra's Yentl Medly live at the Molson Center in Montreal in the late 90's (97 I think). The power co😅ntrol and stamina this took is amazing. It is wi😂thout a doubt the best cover of any Barbra song Ihave ever heard. I guarantee you will be amazed at this stunning performance. The ovation she received from the packed house wase tremendous.

Wouldlike to see you enjoy Yentl Medley. Although older (1997) it is a live performance from the Molsin Center in Montreal and is brilliant. She does Barbra Streisand's Papa Can YouHear Me and a Piece of Sky together without a break between them. Not even Barbra has done them both together. It is brilliant. By the way she released a new single on Jan. 26 called Ta Peine and it is a beautiful song.

I recommend a Spanish singer, her name is Diana Navarro. She is a very versatile singer who sings different musical styles with a very particular voice and incredible melismas, she always transmits when she sings. The song is "El perdón" official video clip. Best regards

Love your reactions to our Queen! There's no shortage of where to go next, but I would suggest her Yentl Medley from 1997 and Tango from the Nue concert 2002. To call either one just a performance would be to call a Monet just a painting. They are masterpieces of her ability, and Tango is done from a chair! Every vocal coach should see what she could do from a chair! And remember what a tango dance is about. 🔥😊

Whether in English, French, or Italian, Mm Fabian demonstrates in a perfect way the difference between singing in a language, and singing the language. It is almost impossible to sing with nuance and with heart and true acuity in any language other than one learned in the home.
