I remember when i heard this song in Josh Groban version, i just thought how beautiful it was, then i began to search about this song, i found "Lara Fabian". I started to listen this song in Lara Fabian verson, it was more beautiful than any other singer sing this song.. Totally agree. I was fortunate to be at the Place Des Arts the evening prior for the performance. I've seen Lara in concert 11 times over the years since 1998 in a myriad of venues. This one was truly special.

I attended the 3 shows at Place des arts and it was my first time seeing her ever. However, I have been following her for years and have watched all her performances online but I still find this current tour to have something more. She seems happier than ever and is in great shape both vocally and physically. The audience was almost very supportive. I really loved it.

This woman is so underrated! I'm more of a metal girl myself but talent is talent. She is better than those famous so called divas.. My favorite singer is a metal frontwoman called Floor Jansen, who actually has a cover of adagio on the KZbin channel. So, the talent of Lara is recognized by anyone that has ears to know true talent and hard work. I like this woman's voice since I was a teen, she has a Portuguese song called meu grande amor, it was a big hit here! I'm thankful that you have this channel to spread the word on her! Keep it up!

Shes not under rated only not as popular as the other Divas. When we were young adults in the 90s the American Divas were publicized as the best in the world. And we believed in that. But with the coming of the internet age (You tube channel, etc), you realized that aint the case its more of marketing and publicity. (But they`re very good but not the best). Freddie Mercury, was not even considered as the greatest vocalist during the rock era, he was overshadowed by other POPULAR vocalists from other rock bands. (Led Zepplein, Deep Purple, etc) His EPIC performances such as the LIve Aids and other masterpieces (songs) propelled him way up the ladder after more than 2 decades. Laras ladder of popularity is on a continuous climb.. I think we have seen the pattern, based from the reactions of the younger generation, (2000s up), they are not familiar with the Divas so they have no biases. You know who they picked as their number one (when exposed to) that possibly will be the case. with the succeeding generations, Epic performances? she has so much to offer, masterpieces? a lot of the young singers are doing rendition of her songs. Professional singers and composers considered her as a top caliber, one of the best vocalists in the world. The point is, One`s greatness can never be overshadowed. but its trajectory is to rise up.

Compared to the popular singers of her time like Mariah Carey and Celine Dion, I think her voice is the best preserved and sounds like in the past. Mariah can't belt properly anymore and Celine sounds completely different/nasal. Healthy vocal techniques and plenty of rest is key.

With respect, Celine has been a live vocalist for nearly her entire career. You can’t really compare Celine with any other singer as she is the only singer that has used her voice super consistently while the others took many years off from touring and singing every single day either on albums or on stages. Celine is by far, the most accomplished and consistent of vocalists considering her track record of using that golden voice. Having said that, I’m a huge fan of Lara and Mariah. I just think we need to keep it objective and factual.

Oh no, tell me my ears are deceiving me or did Lara, indeed, 'go up on [her] line' @ the 3:11 point fatally anticipating the next by supplanting 'said' with a voicing, prematurely, of 'shed' , instead? Ahhh,... well she's human, after all ;-) Nonetheless, it still is a bit of a surprise; jarring almost - to see her cast in a light that is anything less than totally flattering in that many of us over the years have grown accustomed to enjoying almost exclusively her "perfect" renderings that are now such a fixture and so widely circulated via the "internet". In these we typically experience her so 'dialed in' "(re)living the moment" that even a seemingly minor flub occurring - like this, is something considered almost unthinkable. While, perhaps, only she knows or can say to what to attribute the miscue, suffice it to say that something caused her mind (or tongue) to wander and it is only remarkable in the sense that, again, the performances one is used to seeing her give have either taken place in a more protected/forgiving environment or are the creme of the crop culled from many efforts of lesser quality. It might not even be healthy psychologically for her to "transport" herself emotionally to a place she may have been some 20 years ago merely so that she might give the most 'honest' interpretation of this song in a contemporary setting. That is a lot to ask of any artist even one as invested as Lara Fabian, especially, to insist on this level of commitment on a regular basis that is if she is on tour or doing a multi-show gig. To end on a high note(no pun intended) her voice sounds somewhat richer and fuller than I had expected which is of some comfort to those of us that worried if she'd ever come close to approximating legendary performances of the distant past.

Nobody is asking her to go back to a sad place to perform such a song. That’s just the way she does it and that shows real artistry. To be able to emote, you need to think about something sad or relive something sad that happened in your life, that’s just how it works and that’s what makes Lara the best at emoting. Also it’s not like it’s taking any toll on her. She has a very healthy life. She’s surrounded by love and is a positive and joyful person. She knows it’s part of the job.

So with age does Lara have to be "careful" with her voice? She can't just attempt to replicate all her crazy vocal feats like holding notes for 14 secs or blasting 25 E5's in one night like in pbs. Right? Sorry I'm crazy about this stuff

You always have to be careful with your voice, no matter your age. But I suppose you have to take more precautions when you’re older, yes. With that being said, Lara has shown this year that her voice is still in an amazing condition (better than most women her age, and better than her peers…) and she does sing plenty of high notes every night. F#5 in je suis malade, E5s and G5 in Broken vow, E5 in je t’aime, sustained E5 in si tu m’aimes with many D5s, and Eb5s, E5s and crazy sustained notes in Adagio…etc. Does she sing them with the same ease as she did 20 years ago ? Obviously not. But she still sings them with a great technique.
