They cut it away but when accepting her award, Lara was ridiculed and her name was mispronounced.Lara put her in her in the classiest way possible:"Can you hold this(the award) for me? She is like a one punch knockout, vocal artist. I mean in 1998 World Music Awards, two Divas performed there (a year ago, one is a Spanish and the other is an American))and they received a well round of applause. And a year after an "unknown" to a lot of the audience, (except to the Europeans among the crowd). put on a show. and wowed the crowd. ending in a standing ovation . All five vocal Divas or Legends of her generation performed there, the Voice? got a standing ovation after her performance while she received it, while still performing and at two thirds of the way.. A tale sign of the greatness in her. Truly a vocal music goddess.

I've always loved this version of Je T'aime. Thank you for upscaling it! Apparently though, the presenters were ignorant as to who Lara is and the category she won and mispronounced her name. I saw a clip, that I can't find any more, of the end of the presentation where Lara is seemingly correcting them...she's like..I am Lara Fabian and can you please hold this award for my song Je T'aime that I'm going to sing now(I'm paraphrasing, can't remember exactly) as she's handing it to that blonde we saw with her award at the very beginning. One comment on original vid that I saw described the performance as almost combative! Her fans know who she is, and for those that don't know who Lara Fabian is,..well...after this performance, they'll never forget her

...I have to give credit where credit is due, looking back I found the original commenter of the post I was talking about and I realized my comment is naturally similar to his since I was paraphrasing it. His name is Roddo. Don't know who is is but the description of what the presenters got wrong and the "almost combative" description is his...I just liked it and it always stuck with me whenever I watch this particular performance

To me it symbolises that you might feel that the world is against you but when you give the world your best; they will give you so much more in return: a connection. Edit: that 'combative post' in the lost video was mine, as well😄 I remember saying something about the difference between how she normally phrases the final lines to this performance. She looks into the camera and says 'tu vois; j'taime....Comme ça', holds her hand up as if to say" see international music moguls, I love you...like you are" and there was no love in that look, there was defiance. Check out the full length video if you can find it. Right before this, Lara was awarded an award by two people who didn't know who she is and they kind of poked fun at her award and her name. Lara put the lady in her place in a subtle classy way which is way the presenter looked a bit pissy. and Lara proceeded to oversing the entire song as if to say:'You might have never heard of me but you will remember me after this." The way she glances at her fans in the corner and finally looks into the camera saying:" tu vois, je t'aime ...comme ça" as if to say:"you've heard my voice, you saw the audience reaction...it's all good"
