The song is called "I love you" but the crowd is singing to her "we love you" so this is why she feels an even bigger emotion.
@ericsicard9109 ай бұрын
Lara was facing hard times , both on the personal (health, love betrayal and breakup) and professional (her progress blocked in the US by her own record company) sides. Her fanbase knew most of it and wanted to show support and they used this song, one of her biggest hits in France, replacing the title” Je t’aime / I love you” by “On t’aime / We love you”. I love how Lara, after the initial surprise, establishes a beautiful dialog with the crowd, giving them room to sing with her. It shows how benevolent and humble she is. The song itself is a gem, it was as I said one of her songs that reached the top 10 in France charts. But it even grew bigger after it and has become now a french classic, her most iconic french song. It is still attracting a lot of covers from the young french and canadian vocalists generation (Amir, Jeck, …). Most frenchmen know the song by heart. Surprisingly, it was also a massive success in russia and eastern europe: she became a superstar there thanks to it (and 15 years before her lengthy collaboration with Igor Krutoy that extended this even further) and the song is a MUST in russian karaoke and a recurrent in russian singer contests. Again many covers of this songs from eastern europe talents: Polina Gagarina, Sevara Nazarkhan, Katerina Maslova, Natalia Tsarikova, … As always with her biggest hits, Lara has performed it in many different ways: • Intense and powerful at World Music Awards 1999, • Subtle and delicate in her En Toute Intimité 2003 tour. • Classy and moving, performing with 2 vertebrae broken, at Royal Albert Hall in London (2011) • Jazzy in a recent perf (2018) with a band from Quebec The lyrics are also mesmerizing. Despite the title, it is not a classic love song but a breakup song instead. “Je t’aime” was written by Lara Fabian and Rick Allison, her longtime music producer and composer. He also had been her boyfriend for a few years, at the start of her career. This song was written when their love evolved to a friendship and a professional relationship . It speaks about a couple splitting while still having a lot of sentiments one for the other.

I see that other people have already commented about how the crowd was saying “we love you“ and she was replying with “I love you“. The other comments have also talked about how she was going through a really tough time and the audience knew about it and they planned this way of telling her that she was loved by them. It’s even more touching when you get that. At one point just before she was starting to sing, someone in the audience yelled “don’t sing Lara”, basically saying that they were going to sing to her … about how they loved her. The reply she said near the beginning is something along the lines of “you caught me off guard“. Anyway, this is the most amazing audience interaction I’ve ever seen. It would’ve been amazing to be there. I’m so glad they gave that gift to her … and to everyone who gets to watch it like us. Puts a tear in my eye every time I watch.

No matter how many times I watch this I cry. The song name in english is, 'I love you' (Je t'aime). She was going through very emotionally rough patch at the time and her band colluded with the fans when its time to do the song. to sing to her, 'We love you' (Ont t'aime), to lift her spirit, to which she tearfully responded 'Je t'aime'. Me: Whoosh! tears. Also, the fans sounded great!😊

Adagio she wrote for herself and Dimash covered it years later in competition he won the night when he did it on (I am singer) and often does it in concert. It also brought him to her attention and thus Igor's attention. She and Igor wrote My love for him another concert fav. Lara live is always the way to go to get the full impact after you have actually heard more of her work especially live go back and watch the audience version and you will have a better grasp on the emotional out pouring and why. Her concert from Lara with love is a tour de force by any measure. She wrote Broken Vow as well which has been covered by Barbra Streisand and Josh Grobin although the version that Lara sings outclasses them all it is simply wow. Her version of Caruso which is normally sung by an older male opera singer will rock you back on your heels for sure. In other words I know right now you have not been given enough of her singing to really fall in love but I promise stay on the path and you absolutely will.

Lara is gorgeous, she is a queen. I am very happy and excited to hear the live performance of diva LARA FABIAN, whom I have admired for 26 years, at her concert in Istanbul on April 25th. A real artist doesn't just sing, he writes that song, composes it and performs it on stage. I curse the American music industry and Sony Music every day. The evil they did to him is incredible. Suan is much more talented than those portrayed as divas in America, so they blocked her way. We want to see more Lara Fabian videos on your channel.For example ''BROKEN WOW '' :):)

I would like to add a few things to Eric's post. Lara and Rick Allison had a much deeper connection than him being only a boyfriend of a few years. They started out from nothing, even living in a car for months while trying to get gigs from town to town all over Canada. They were even engaged for a time. Not to mention all the songs that they wrote and composed together over a decade of love, friendship to their final parting in 2003. As for Lara's performance in the Royal Albert Hall in 2011, 2 days before the concert Lara was rushed to the hospital after collapsing which resulted the 2 broken vertebrate. She was in a lot of pain and she was unable to walk and sit upright properly. The concert was for Mikhail Gorbachev's birthday, so Lara didn't want to decline the honor to perform for him, so she was put into a cast/brace and was given some Morphine for the pain. So when you watch her walk on stage she is basically high and in a cast to keep her bones from shifting while she was moving and singing her song LIVE, NOT FROM A PLAYBACK in absolute perfection. Till this day I have no idea how in the world was she able to pull that one off.

The story behind this specific performance: Lara was in a bad time, (then) recently ended a relationship and was in a deep low. Her fans contacted her music/show production, and told him that they wanna surprise her with this song and he arranged with them that when he will pause after the first notes, they will start singing... AMD THEY DID, and you see Lara's shocked reaction... look up for the lyrics. In the chorus they sing to her "on t'aime" (WE love you) and she responds "je t'aime" (I love you)...

That's why she is a relative unknown in North America. Just like how Dimash today is a relative unknown. Record industry in the USA is notorious.

How I wish I can sing like her, but I dare not try for fear that the birds around my neck of the woods will start their hibernation in the middle of spring, traumatised by my screeching I can give a banshee a run for their money...

As others have expressed this performance makes for misty eyes! This I believe is her signature song and she has sung "Je t'aime" throughout her career and one of the 1st songs she had written. 6000+ fans made this performance a love fest. Her fans indeed truly love her and they have been devoted fans throughout her career. This is not the 1st time her fans rallied to her side; there a concert where she became very ill and lost her voice...she stepped out on the stage and explained because she was ill there were certain songs she would not be able to sing and thus she explained that she had backup singer ready to help her.; when the piano started playing Pas Sans Toi (Not without You) and one of her 1st song she wrote as well and her favorite...her fans spontaneously started to sing...Lara stood there fighting tear... There's another performance of Pas Sans Toi where she explains; the song was written for one person and over the years it became for another then another and so on. She has since dedicated this song to her fans and she explains she would not be where she is "not without you"!

👉This song Je T'aime/I love you is Lara's original song (Songwriter: Lara Fabian / Rick Allison) next to Adagio, probably her most famous and well-known song in the world. Je t’aime means: “I love you” and the audience sings: “We love you” (On t’aime). I think every artist can only wish for fans who will stand by you and show interest when you're going through a dark time. From what I understand, she had a difficult time because she found out that Celin Dion (management) had hindered her career in the US. Lara's fans joined forces with the pianist and sang the song for her. Have Celin Dion fans ever sang for her? I think at that moment Lara felt that the US wasn't the center of the world and that she was going to have a great career either way.

I know! Right? Look I get it thst these US Reactors are products of a system where, for decades, they continually were told & believed, that their country alone was the repository of all talent, had the 'Best & Brightest' of everything - including music. Even so, here in 2024, it is profoundly jarring to the rest of the world that so many in the US are still so jaw-dropped gobsmacked when they discover the truth. After all, how long now have they had access to the internet to explore beyond their borders? There is also a long-standing bias within the 'Western' Music Industry against Non-English Speaking artists / songs - still. It is great to see this starting to break down and music as 'The Universal Language', asserting its rightful place, transcending land, cultural and language barriers.

This is a beautiful picture of humanity's capacity for selfless love, compassion, and care. If such love were so freely given to everyone all the time, empathetically and as robustly, so many of the world's troubles would go away. The love the audience demonstrates to her right when she needed it the most is a precious and beautiful thing to watch. It was planned by the audience and her pianist, without her knowledge as a gift of compassion to Lara who was struggling deeply with depression at that time and this is evident by her complete shock at yhe close of the intro. A person is so loved because they have demonstrated that kind of love and generosity to others. If we could all love as readily as this audience because we know another needs it, our world would be a very different place. This is a stunning moment from which we can all learn.

This is not a video to comment about a performance, but to comment about humanity. The rumor is that the audience was told that she would not be performing. Somehow, the word spread through the crowd that they would sing for her. So knowing the difficult times she was going through, the crowd wholeheartedly sang "I love you" to her. They gave her strength to return the sentiment. You can clearly see how moved she was, and was motioning to them when she sang "I love you" in return. Her fans have so much love and compassion for her. Breathtaking and emotional to see what humanity, true love, and compassion looks like.

I like your reactions and your chemistry, you guys are obviously friends, besides being accomplished professionals; it is always a joy to watch your content. On the phenomenon that is Lara Fabian: all I have to say is that you are in for a treat, as you unfold this unique soul’s body of work. She is a complete artist, a wonderful human being and an inspiration to all of us. Her ability to convey and project emotion is truly second to none, while the all-encompassing power of her voice and presence leaves noone untouched. Truly the absolute greatest, IMHO. I suggest you analyse more of her performances from her “From Lara with Love” live concert (“Adagio”, “Broken Vow”, “Love by Grace”, “You are not from here”, ”Carouso”, etc.) but you should absolutely also look further: “Tango” shows such a sensual side of her and “Mademoiselle Hyde” is a recent live where she embodies two distinct characters in one song like noone else. In my opinion, however, the most breathtaking masterclass in singing, acting, owning the stage and honouring one of her idols, Barbra Streisand, is the “Yentl Medley” live in Montreal. Give it a try and be amazed; can’t wait to see your reaction to it. I am so jeallous of you being able to experience all those wonderful performances for the first time :) Thank you and keep it up!

The title of the song is "I love you"; and the fans in the room are singing "we love you". That’s why Lara Fabian is so moved.

Lara Fabian is, to steal a term from someone else's term..............the Ultimate Artist - technically perfect, tonally perfect, powerful yet warm and delicate presentation............simply put she is one of a very few consumate artists. Few covers are as impactful as an original performance but her version is just that........THE standard to which all are compared -- anpther example would be the song " Caruso " which is usually covered by an operatic tenor but her version of that song is the one that comes to mind when you hear it. The best singer EVER !!

Lara is criminally unknown by a lot of people, I have been talking to people since the 90’s about her and lots of people were unaware of her. I’m spreading the word like it’s my job!

I would love to see your reaction to "lyubov pokhozhaya na son" meaning " a dream-like love" or "love is like a dream" - maybe both versions- her and the one of Dimash - I could hear this song all day long. This one from Johnny Hallyday I remember from my youth (yes I´m that old 😂) and you should probably dive deeper in the french music - the great Chansons - you might recognize some songs that were adapted later to "modern" arrangements . Johnny Hallyday was well known in Europe as were Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Gilbert Becaud (monsieur 100.000 volt), Jacques Brél, Guilette Greco and so on... french music is always very emotional (Richard will like that) and often kind of "dark" feeling. So enjoy the ride - and thanks for you reations and analysis. 🥰

The Queen Of Resonance and vowel coordination. She is The Ring. I suggest starting with her live concert for TV called From Lara With Love and reacting to the songs from that starting with Adagio.
@lanafalba34623 ай бұрын
The song JE T AIME is one of her best, and the audience sings On t'aime that means WE LOVE YOU ... that's why she is so emotional... they give her their love and she is giving it to them such a beautiful moment full of simplicity and truth very far from what we see now... Must say French artists are often in this kind of sharing emotions...
