This was performed in a JUNO awards ceremony, the canadian equivalent of the grammy awards. Love by Grace made Lara a star in Brazil when it was used in the soundtrack of a famous local soap opera called Laços de Familia. It topped the brazilian charts for a few months and she was invited in all major brazilian tv shows. Then the song became a recurrent in almost every single brazilian singer contests, the ultimate song to prove your vocal power. So a lot lot of brazilian covers including a famous recent one from Gabriel Henrique. But Lara’s version is untouchable and remains the absolute reference. I said “Lara’s version” and not the original because Love by Grace is in fact a cover she made herself of a country song by Wynona Judd. But it was completely revisited as a ballad for Lara and Lara’s version is the one that became a success WW. As a side note, after her brazil tour, and to thanks her brazilian fans who received her as a queen, Lara translated one of her most famous french hits in portuguese: "Si tu m’aimes" became "Meu grande amor". It was used again for another soap opera titled "O Clone" and became another big hit in Brazil 😀 Unfortunately no live recording available of her delivery of this song. But some fans created a video for it using her live video of the french song rendition.

Céline Dion group ( her husband) was afraid of her talent so she was asked by Sony to change her way of singing and being not happy with it she quit. That is why americans never heard of her up to now meaning 4 or 5 years back. Some are discovering her by Dimash who covered her songs . Dimash is a fan of Lara since he was a young boy. Now she's a Canadian citizen and living in the Province of Québec a french speaking province in Canada. Best regards from Québec city.

I really appreciate you reacting to this version, it deserves so much more attention. They absolutely were afraid of her taking over all the big chanteuses. Celine Dion's team at Sony completely undermined her, and her breakthrough into the US was over before it took hold because she was determined to be true to herself, not to be what they tried to force her into. This song is a perfect example of why. This was originally more of a country pop song sung by Wynonna Judd, who is powerful and amazing in her own right. But if you listen to her version, which is still beautiful, and then Lara's, Lara completely reinvents it and takes it to whole new levels. Her musical talents and instincts are extraordinary. She gives the ultimate example of making a cover song your own. Same thing with Je Suis Malade.

The world of Laura Fabian's fans is spread across Europe, as Celine Dion started singing first and gained a huge legion of fans in the USA, and when Laura started her career, she saw that there was nothing she could do about that fact, although she has fewer fans than Celine, she gave her heart and soul to the Europeans and as she speaks 5 languages fluently, she took all of Europe under her wing... proof of this is in a video made in France sung in the same language and can- If you witness what it's like to have an audience at your feet...
