Yes, I think they made Peter seem more like an asshole and gave us less Peter/Lara Jean scenes so people would be into John Ambrose/Lara Jean. And in the book Peter does act Petty out of jealousy, but not that much. I also think the book made the distinction between when you start to know someone/have a crush on them and they seem perfect for you because you don't know them that much yet (John Ambrose, all she felt is based off who she thought he was when they were like 8 years old) vs actually knowing the person and the good and the bad and having to go through conflicts together and have a "real" relationship (Peter.) I also think that what Lara Jean did was super shitty, she was batlantly flirting with John and making him think they could be a couple while she already had a boyfriend, that was so shitty.

It annoyed me SO MUCH when she all but refused to tell John Ambrose about Peter. Like, she had plenty of chances to tell him, but chose not to. Well, They promised not to break each others hearts, I guess that's mainly the reason why Peter hid those stuffs as he didn't want to hurt her. Again LJ was curious about what could happen with John Ambrose, that's why she even made him the chocolate cupcakes, though she knew PK liked salted caramel. So tbh I feel both of them were faulted characters, it's not right to blame just PK, whereas the movie did try hard to make JA a dear! In the end PK did love LJ & that's why he came to pick her up even though they weren't together then. No relationship in the world is perfect, people learn through mistakes, that's why PK told LJ to break his heart, so that they could be honest with each other. After all even though the feelings were mutual, JA was LJ's first crush, love is a heavy word to use for that feeling where as PK was indeed LJ's first love! & They do deserve each other. P.S. I did love Jhon Ambrose & yes He DID deserve better but that's certainly not getting together with LJ.

The problem with movies are that they have to fit 10+ hours of book material into 1.5 hours of film material. So the "actual" storyline is not that intense and profound at the end. In the books the process of LJ and Peter is so much more lingering than actually in the movie. And it really makes sense why she reacts the way she does. In summary, I am just happy the books exist 😂❤

I have always loved them together, gosh. Since books came out, I liked the way their relationship was portrait. They are so alike and different, that feel like soulmates. Unlike with Peter (and I really like him in the first book) but his behaviour in the last second and third book just made me love John Ambrose even more. I truly think that they will someday be part of each other life in a romantic way. He even tell her that, something like “I don’t think there was the time for us, or even now. But someday, maybe it will”. She even said in books that of all the boys she would have choose him, and even in matter of weeks she was half of the way in love with HIM. I love the caring guys, and he is one of them. Peter is the type of guy which can last, sure, but most of he is the kind where you learn things. John Ambrose is the one you share your life with. Most of is because he is already the one that will love you, with all.

This movie completely pissed me off because how easily they excused Peter’s actions. They keep using the excuse that Peter and his ex had a past and that she was going through a difficult time. Fine, that I get. But LJ and her didn’t get along and had beef. The respectful thing to do is console his ex in a respectful way to LJ. Plus I was annoyed how he was waiting for his ex in the hot tub and not LJ because he said he liked LJ before that moment, but decides to wait for his ex instead 😒??????? How true were his feelings then? He did that to freaking keep his options open which was fucked up. Then LJ came up with an excuse that she was the one not over his ex, and that got me heated 🤬. It wasn’t her fault, there are boundaries that he shouldn’t cross, and he’s surprised that she’s pissed at him?? Is he stupid?!!?! Over all, I felt like the story made it seem like LJ’s fault when it clearly isn’t, and that’s why I wanted her to be with John more. I liked peter in the first movie so much more. He was scared of getting hurt after his father walked out on him so he withheld a lot of himself. He eventually opened up to Lara Jean and she loved him even more for it. I feel like if everyone read the book, they would be on Team John Ambrose. They made Peter look like the good guy in the movie, but he was an a-hole in the book. If he really is “crazy” about Lara Jean and loves her like he says he does, he would be with her. Not spend all of his time with Gen because she has family issues. She can talk to someone else. I think Lara Jean was justified in feeling like she was Peter’s second choice because she really was. He was always there when Gen had problems, but when Lara Jean needed him or wanted him around, he wasn’t. John Ambrose genuinely loved Lara Jean for who she was, and they had so much chemistry. They would’ve been perfect for each other. I think she made the wrong choice in going back to Peter. I agree with John Ambrose that Peter treated Lara Jean like garbage.
