I still think the class has major usability issues and a very steep learning curve, so I would probably upgrade it to B tier? Amazing pick if you are a god gamer, still not the best choice for most

Vindi got kinda meh after this patch. Sure - on golem bench is even higher with 100% vigor uptime. But in real encounters it doesnt feel that smooth anymore, less endurance and with no self vigor its not as fun as it was. Still atleast A tier probably just because of pumpin good dmg.

I don't think anyone expected that buff to be as huge as it was! FWIW I agree with Mirage in B tier, imo it's in a very similar spot to chrono: reallu good in capable hands, but probably not a good pick for your first endgame build. For Chrono it's Continuum Split that makes it so hard to play, for Mirage I reckon having your dodge as an essential part of the rotation will throw most new (and a fair few experienced) players for a loop.

Personally I feel like Mirage is C at best because the axe _suuuuucks_ . Axe 2 sends you flying through the target, axe 3 teleports you to a random location around your target. Axe feels like it was meant purely for PvP/WvW fun and doesn't fit instanced PvE at all.

@@hellolin324 I've just check and the DPS build does like 43k at the moment. That's quite above average. Bladesworn is one of those harder DPS specs that requires player to be comfortable with the playstyle and used to the fight mechanic. It's not really plug-and-play like Spellbreaker.

Dual pistol deadeye is stupidly efficient in openworld, im not sure about fractals n stuff, but in open world you literally only have to use (3) unload and you do pretty damn good damage, you can also remain super mobile, its actually pretty decent!

I joined a few world boss trains with a friend a few days ago and we both realised something - there were ZERO elementalists. And trust me, we were actively looking. Rangers/Soulbeasts were everywhere, followed by Guardians/Dragonhunters, and as always, a ton of Necromancer/Reapers. There were a few thieves, engineers, revenants, mesmers, and warriors, but we literally did not see a single elementalist (or any of its elite specs).

Nearly 4k hours on my Guard, but Scrapper is my favorit for PvE. nearly all skills are usefull (elixir, kits, gyros, gadgets, turrets) , buffs, cc, invis, stunbreaks, quickness/speed/superspeed, close and ranged combat. its an Swiss Army knife :D and you can swap from quickDPS to heal very fast.

Power renegade is underrated imo. Most people pick up renegade for its condi dps but forget how strong power is, because it lets your effigies deal a huge amount of damage on their own without needing to commit yourself, you can easily get between 10-20k damage per effigy which only applies to ash legion and iron legion effigies but its honestly good dps. The only issue is that the dps window is tight and you really need to spend a lot of your Kalla energy maintaining alacrity for yourself if you are trying to solo so you can keep your iron legion effigy on the field to keep the max vulnerability stacks on the enemy.

Note for anyone who would like to pick up quickness cata: The energy management can be made a lot easier by picking the bottom trait in the first column that gives you energy on attunement swap. It is a miniscule dps loss compared to the trait recommended by snowcrows, but massively ups your energy gain, even when you are not attacking and EVEN when you are cc'd or rezzing someone

It's funny how the classes has changed since the beginning of GW2. At first there where just a view people who played ingenieur because it was so hard to play. Now with Mechanist everybody plays it because it makes a lot of damage and is easy to play. Necro was an Outcast at Fractals and Dungeons and now scourge and reaper a most common class. I think Arenanet did a good job there.

Funnily enough, I ended up starting as a necromancer because I thought letting summons fight for me sounded great. Needless to say, that idea did not last. But some of the dialogue my char throws out when a minion dies always give me a good chuckle. "No! I hand raised that minion" comes to mind. lol Then I ended up going Reaper because I was jealous that Trahearne got a cool sword and I wanted one. 😅 Still reaping souls a year later in Heart of Thorns.

Duel pistol lifesteal deadeye is kinda fire actually for PvE general and solo boss fighting. Would suggest a bump in ranting, but maybe that's just me. I bet it would be great in a group too.

The list is very solid, and reflecting the recent balance patch results too. You will always see certain niche specs shine is some PVE instanced situation but this list is a very good overall ranking on the most reliable classes in S and A tier. B thier is when you rise an eyebrow when they join the group but a good player will definitely make wonders with those C tier is “you log on an other char right?” D tier can be 2 types: the silent genious kids with 5 precasted abilities before fight and 80k dps opener or less dps than the healer no inbetween.

Heal chrono is already a thing right now. Rifle will definitely make it easier (not necessarily more fun to play imo, probably will be my 'swap in case of emergency' weapon)

@@Laranity in my opinion it limits the class too much compared to other weapons you can run. It won't ever replace scepter clone generation and focus utility. The might on shield is a lot easier to apply compared to rifle 3, and sword still has the best phantasm uptime if you struggle with quickness or Alacrity uptime. Rifle 5 is too niche to be actually be usable in PvE, though I can definitely see some uses in competitive game modes. But yeah I do kind of miss the burst healing and don't forget how it simplifies regeneration uptime, though that is about it for me.

I am a fan of the Quickness dps build, but hit around 14k dps (where the Reapers hit 37k), I want to contribute more to my fractal parties, and hope to learn a thing or two from you

Use Applied Force for pure DPS. If you opt for quickness, you can't compete with other pure DPS specs

For me it's viper's Staff/GS (Staff with bursting/malice and GS with force/impact) mirage with Travler's runes , Relic of Akeem and for food/utility I go Plate of fire flank steak and Toxic focusing crystal ... This build is not meta and sounds soooo ridicule but it's soooooo much fun to play and has soo much boon generation that you find yourself perfectly hybrid with high range mixed dmg . For spec I go 1/2/1 domination , 1/3/3 chaos and 2/2/1 mirage and Utility I go signets of Midnight and Domination Plus Illusionary Ambush and ofc False Oasis and Jaunt for heal and elite

Virtuoso is one of those ones I keep meaning to try, more so after that weapon beta. After watching though I also wanna try some more like vindicator, but admittedly mesmer and revenant tend to be my weaker classes as I have less idea what I’m doing lol. Enjoyed seeing the audience hammer on the catalyst though - I love the shamrock the spinning hammers make and will sometimes go through them when standing around just to enjoy the spin 😂

But watching your streams and videos has inspired me to try out more support-y builds, been having a ton of fun running quickness herald lately! The build diversity across the classes feels so good lately.

As a Reaper main I can confirm we hit like trucks. Takes half an hour to hit anything but it's not like the enemy are going anywhere with all that Chill on them. I love Virtuoso! However, the thing that I feel holds it back compared to, Chrono/Mirage is that while it's nice that your keep your blades (clones) after defeating an enemy, the blades also don't work as distractions the same what clones do on Chrono/Mirage. I feel I'm forced to be running way more often and when the Mesmer is already very squishy defensively, if a horde runs as you you gotta also run! As far as damage and fun, yeah, Virtuoso has all of it! Also, thing with Spectre that I feel keeps it from S tier (for me, personally) is that the Wells FORCE you into Melee range which is bizarre considering it has a ranged weapon. They should have a shadowstep return option or something. Like they say, get in and get out. 🤭Also, the ally targeting is silly in this game. With all the chaos going on and you have to perfectly click on an ally in order to target them but with other players or minions running around it's not that simple. FFXIV has a smooth system for this because they have dedicated healers, but ANET trying to to implement it when it was never supposed to be a thing in their revolutionary NON-TRINITY game is proving to be troublesome.

I've been maining dual dagger daredevil in open world and its been super good. In big events I rarely ever die because I have SO many evades that nothing hits me. And im getting boons and heals from others in events. Not sure how it does in instanced content though.... Probably fall off every ledge since they never have walls. :(

i agree and disagree with untamed. yes, the dps version its just soulbeast with a pet. and ye, condi quick its just a meh dps with quickness attached to it. but i gotta say that power quick its way better, you can change marksmanship for nature magic for free boon duration and doublesmash spirits, changing spores for storm spirit that deals more damage thanks to doublesmash + double cc, not being condi frees your elite from entangle, so you can get elite spirit for up to a 10 man res with doublesmash. making the build way better, self sustainable (even able to self res since the 2nd smash has a delay), having lots of ccs, and some other niche utils like massive cleanses on healing trap or frost spirit if the healers are sleeping on that, boonrips, projectile blocks etc

was just about to say except for mirage i totally agree with this ranking. to me the biggest limiting factor of a class mostly is how good they perform in open world content because often enough you are pretty much alone doing champions, legendaries and other sorts of bosses in general etc. that can be a really big downer in my opinion because every class can perform very well to a certain extent in group content like raids, fractals or dungeons because you get many boons and buffs, but playing solo in open world you mostly don't have these buffs or boons.

The only one I still disagree here is untamed. You can do almost soulbeast's damage with much more forgiving rotation with tons of survivability. If you set your unleash on weapons swaping, you have free healing every few seconds with very good damage.

Necro can become incredibly tanks. So I'm not surprised they ranked so well. My main is a necro just because how easy it can do it's job

I may argue that Renegade can be rather fun to play. Shortbow Renegade simply *melts* enemies, and I do mean that literally. If you have high concentration, you can actually keep up your alacrity beyond the cooldown for Orders From Above, keeping it on you and your teammates forever. However, you also need to manage your energy carefully, because if you don't have enough energy to keep up OFA as soon as it's off cooldown, you're going to be in trouble. You need not have Kalla as one of your active Legends to be good at killing everything that crosses your path, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have her. One other thing that I should argue about is Bladesworn. Yes, it can be tricky to play it, and it doesn't have much utility for a team beyond banners and alacrity, but that latter part can actually make a lot of difference. Bladesworn's Daring Dragon trait has the longest-lasting alacrity buff in the game. Full stop. And with high concentration, you can extend it to mind-boggling durations, so long as you have enough flow to enter Dragon Slash, which can easily be remedied with To The Limit! shout. And it can also be very tanky, with right traits and utility skills. Not to mention that Bladesworn has access to aegis through both Gunsaber and Dragon Slash 4 (though you cannot give it to your teammates like Guardian), something that can save you a lot of headaches if you need to keep up alacrity without interruptions from CCs. Either way, both of those elites should be higher than what you gave them. Not S-tier(even if shortbow can output hilarious amounts of hurt on enemies through bleeding and burning, making PvE trivially easy with a renegade), but certainly A-tier.

Relic of the MIdnight King makes area might & fury super-easy on Renegade right now via Darkrazor's Daring (utility) and Scorchrazor (bow 5). The summons are really interesting in that enemies will attack them, especially hilarious if they go after your life-steal elite which has a 1s cooldown to resummon. It's "fine" in celestial, with a lot of boon and cc potential. It's more of a solid A-tier now thanks to the relic, especially with a staff to go with your bow. The elite gives an easy-to-maintain fire field for combos and generous life-stealing for allies.

Mirage is my go to class for open world if i want to do solo stuff and just chill. I play full celestial staff/ dagger + pistol. It's very fun and it is basically impossible to die against anything that is not a legendary. If you don't know what you are doing dps might be a bit bad but otherwise it is easily among the best open world builds in my opinion. I really hope they at least buff it to a point where people won't think you are trolling when you join a group. xD

Lately I've noticed how New World has ripped off bosses from GuildWars 2, the flame naga, here is Neishataun in the Tempest instance in New World. There's another similar boss where you fight a giant statue on a platform that the statue is inside the middle. Last boss of Lazarus in new world. Kinda sad how MMO's rip off GW2 badly.

Elementalist always be S tier class! Jokes aside, Tempest for me will be in S tier. As healer is harder to execute than other classes, but really straightforward. As for other classes (did not tried Engineer only), most of them are HoT for me as those very enjoyable. Rest is fine, is good, but I'm not enjoying them that much :p

One of the lovely things about GW2 is that there really isn't a best class. For example. I could be REALLY good at a specialization which affects my DPS etc, and I could be really bad at the very best DPS class in the game. If you suck at a specialization, it's going to hurt your experience. Find what you love!

My favorites for PVE are Harbinger(although it took a while to find a build I liked but my current one is very tanky and still does a lot of damage), Chronomancer(it's my favorite heal/support spec for PVE right now, you feel immortal on scepter shield, loads of boons and stability, and since a lot of enemies are difficult because they CC you into stuff, it makes things so survivable, and better personal damage than my heal Druid from my experience at least), Virtuoso is great too. My least favorites are sadly what used to be my favorite in Mirage, it feels so squishy and axe putting you in melee, it's like you either kill everything and dodge all damage or you get stuck in something or miss time and your HP just vanishes with very little healing options, even the fact the heal requires you to stay in play while the axe skills teleport you around is annoying for PVE), Weaver(so squishy, I'm realizing I don't like glass cannons for PVE), and Catalyst(I just don't vibe with it).

Having played engineer main around launch (and stopped prior to the first expansion release), I'm recently considering returning to GW2. And perhaps I'm missing something, but I'm a bit disappointed that at least at first impression the three mastery options for engineer feel very diverged from what made the engineer at launch. The look and feel (again, at first glance) of both scrapper and holosmith just do not appeal to me, while mechanist seems only slightly more appealing. =( I do hope I'm wrong, but as it stands I'm actually considering switching main to another class when I pick up the expansions.

Tempest is a great elite. It is best for support, especially water which allows you to be a healer. Fire works best for DPS. Weaver is awesome because you can use 2 elements at the same time, though if you need to heal yourself, you need to make sure you have water as one of your 2 using.

1. I really like the difference equips you shows at the corner, really signify the differences of each elites. 2. why didnt you put Firebrand S tier? it got everything you need. it seems you focus more on higher burst dmg to give higher tier eh 3. ofcourse Untamed will not deal higher dmg than Soulbeast. its cuz your pet the one who will also help deal dmg 4. sad to see two thief specs are low tier. i get its not as flashy as other classes and its more solo-centric class but its still deal high dmg, no?

They're all S tier now but previously I would have said Firebrand, Scrapper, Chronomancer, Herald, and maybe necro.

I am a noob and I play a dead eye thief with a level boosted 80. Sad to see it rank so low when I can break 13k dmg with a power build and I haven't even min/maxxed stats to DPS. One must know when to kneel. I suppose it isn't for everyone but then again it is for me.

Mirage is getting new nerf on axe dps after the last update but the reality is people dont explore the class on all angle / possibility , they dont try hard they just want easy rotation for big dps , the gameplay of mirage is unique , put mirage in D tiers is completely crazy its a S tier far ahead :)

I agree with you 100%. vindicator or virtuoso is best dps class now days. you miss rotation. don't worry. you are going to be just 3th or 4th dps. you have successfully perform rotation then you will be first or second place.

Lara has right, doesnt matter which profession do you pick because all of them are good. For example: my favorites are the deadeye, the Mirage and the Harbinger :D all of them from the bottom tier, yet Im always (or 95% or the time) the top 1 dps in fractals or strikes. Just play what you want ;)
