Great list! Here's another: All skills that require a target (or mention one) will show a subtle red bar under the skill icon. The red bar means your target is "out of range" or "too far away" for that skill to hit them. Click an ally/enemy to target them. If you walk close enough to the target, the bar will go away. When you know to look for it, you'll notice many of your skills have red bars that appear and dissappear as you run around enemies.

I have a couple of tips to share as well! First off, something a surprising number of ranger players don't know (even higher mastery players), you can name your pets in the pet menu above your hotbar! Same place you swap out your pets, you can name each one. (Mechanist engineers, you too can change your mech's name, I believe by right clicking on your mech's icon. I think it says how to change their name on their tooltip, in case I'm slightly wrong on that front). And for newer rangers that weren't aware, you find and tame new pets by finding specific "Juvenile" versions of creatures in very specific places throughout the maps. On that note: you can type "/wiki " in the ingame chat, and it'll automatically bring up the official wiki page for the thing! (So for rangers looking for pet locations, I recommend typing "/wiki pet locations" into chat, brings up the page quick and easy) And one final fun fact: The "Not So Secret" JP in Gendarran Fields, has a real devious trick it doesn't tell you on the path to the diving goggles (the diving goggles being a part of the "Dive Master" achievement for a free core tyria mastery point, so it's been the downfall of many, this tricky bit of the JP) On the path to the diving goggles, you have to launch across two spinny platforms in a row, that shoot you across each other. The thing is, usually the first one launches you far over the second, and you fall to your death, and have to climb alllllllll the way back up again. But APPARENTLY, as a kind veteran recently taught me, the platforms launch you half of the distance if you jump on them AS they're spinning, rather than BEFORE they start spinning. This is something you are REQUIRED to know about these platforms if you want to get across them successfully, but the game does NOTHING to tell you this. So, the first platform you jump on AS it's spinning, landing you safely on the edge of the second platform. On the second platform, you have to jump on it BEFORE it spins, or else you don't make the distance. Also, those platforms autotarget onto enemies patrolling the blimp below, and have a tendency to launch you in their direction, all the way to your death. So... also turn off autotargeting when going into that jumping puzzle.

I've built up a good amount of hate for that wreched JP, but now I might just give it a go again :)
@kaburii98072 жыл бұрын
@@TheBjornwilly I have an extra tip that might help! The wiki page gives instructions on how to skip the starting section of the JP where you have to board the airship and jump from pillar to pillar underneath it. If you're playing a class with some sort of targetable shadowstep/teleport ability, there's a way to skip that part entirely! I suggest ye check the wiki page for the JP to see the specifics

@kaburii98072 жыл бұрын
@@moirapereira7673 The same veteran that taught me the spinning platform trick taught me the springer trick too! And it should be noted that if you happened to have a skyscale, those can fly (by some means I didn't personally experience but saw someone else do ingame) alllllllll the way onto the platform with the diving goggles, bypassing the entirety of the JP

The obsidian sanctum thing is super useful! I'll definitely be sharing that around. As for my contribution, something I learned from a griffon flying guild is that if you're on your springer and you press dismount right at before the bar empties for the charged jump, you'll be flung into the air without your springer, letting you glide or mount your griffon at the apex, with or without bond of faith. More of a bug or exploit than hidden feature but it's useful nonetheless

Something i learned very early on w/ ground targeted skills is that you can press the skill key twice and it'll fire off wherever your mouse is. Never needed to enable snapping thanks to this.

The thing about the turtle and having someone on board to teleport to and unlock waypoints for them, also works for the teatime chair. Tip for keyfarmers: You can skip the tutorial . At level 2, a waypoint unlocks on your map, taking it will skip the tutorial. Easily obtainable if you have tomes of knowledge (golem banker for certain accounts or shared slot)
@mareksroka56292 жыл бұрын
I don't know if that's still actual as I don't keyfarm anymore, but I was using my home instance wp stone, then used the alternative exit of the home instance. You end up in your home town. Exiting to the 1-15 map will then trigger the "tutorial completed" and give you enough xp for lvl 2. Another thing: if you go for the chapter 4 (and 6) story instance key, the home wp stone comes in handy in chapter 3, when you have those pesky "return to your home instance to meet with the order representative", just to have them send you to a location that were next to where you were. If you use the stone, the orders will be here in your home instance, allowing you to advance your story. Using the stone again (or using the regular exit) will then port you back where you were, usually close to your next objective

That's _so_ useful! • /emotelist - I'm pretty sure I'd heard of this before, but completely forgot about it so I'm including it anyways • Achievement filters - I have obviously seen the button, but don't use the search bar a lot so hadn't really paid attention to it. Those filters are sure to come in handy though. • Minstrel novelty trick - _"By Ogden's hammer, what savings!"_ • Reordering watch list - The ordering of this list has been bugging the crap out of me ever since they added it, and, well, I never tried dragging them around... • I am Evon Gnashblade - Like the emotelist, I _had_ heard of this, but also forgotten about it. • Right click skills • Siege turtle teleport • Portal scroll from bank - Neat! Though, I've got my scrolls in shared inventory slots so it's not super-useful for me :3

Additional tip for snap ground targeting key binds: You can enable snapping by default and then use the hold key bind to temporarily disable snapping while holding down that key. In PvE where enemies don't run around as much compared to PvP, I find this setup much more convenient than the reverse setup to not snap by default and then holding a key to snap.

Knew all of them except the first one nice job, I do have to say though that its worth mentioning snap ground targeting is just plain bad if you ever want to improve. try without snap and use instant targeting if your grenades always miss because of animations here's why. Targeting: Cursor aimed at target > Skill activated > Skill Animation plays > Enemy moves > grenades thrown at where your cursor originally aimed. Instant targeting: Cursor aimed at target > Skill activated > Skill animation plays > Enemy moves > Grenades will be thrown at end of animation to where your cursor is pointing RIGHT NOW What this means is that not only does your skill start to activate on key depression the target where you want to throw the grenades is taken AFTER the animation plays. This is EXTREMELY important for gamemodes like PvP where people can teleport around quickly but can still be useful for pve for quite a few skills. all you have to do is keep your cursor on the enemy as the animation for throwing grenades is playing out.

Didn't know about most of these and I've had the game installed (although not super active) for 10 years. Loved the WvW teleport thingy!!

One that my friends didnt know about it, and it's exist from the vanilla is that you can Right-click on the chest over the minimap to get them in your inventory without the UI in the middle of the screen, its usefull for fractales, achievements, etc...

Whoa! There were only a few that I knew about. Laughed a lot that you didn't know about clicking on the boss' name in the right sidebar to auto-target him - it's one of those "I knew this, so of course Laranity knew it 10 years ago, right?" LOL Thanks for another excellent video! 💖

3:56 lol, you didn't mention the PVP area teleport, that also has a bank, a trading post and many pvp vendors - still does not have crafting places, which would be the actual reason you would buy one of them passes :)

Mind was blown by the target boss health bar and siege turtle way point. Also enjoyed learning about "I am Evon Gnashblade" 😂 Great video!!

Yeah, didn't know the clicking the boss bar in the event window. That's a game changer. Ach filters as well are something new along with a couple others. So thanks for the update :D

I did know a lot of these (found them out by accident/curiosity bc I lag a lot and can't see things on the actual screen half the time lmao) BUT! I didn't know about the achievement filters! So you definitely succeeded in your challenge for me! :D Super helpful to know esp since I've been trying to track down titles recently! Thanks Lara!!❤

Didn't know I could click health bars, rearrange tracked achieves, mapinfo or Evon Gnashblade mode. Also I forgot how to draw on the map so I was reminded of that useful feature. Well done!

I didn't know around 4 or 5 of these tips. Clicking the meta event to select that's event's boss blew my mind.

I knew some of those, but others were new to me. fun fact: if you have more then one gw account and you put things in the favorites on TP in one account, they will show up as favorites in the TP menu of your other accounts. I guess since TP is an outside site you acess from inside gw it probably saves cookies based on your IP and not your account.

Holy crap the map completion tip I did not know! I would pull up the wiki map on my other monitor and compare. This is going to make my map completion so much faster. Also I’m working on Minstrel right now and did not know about the novelty! Awesome video.

Most of those I didn’t know. That siege turtle waypoint trick is going to really come in handy…so frustrating when my husband and I don’t both have the waypoint! Thanks.

I got another one for you: If you opened many bags and have a kilometer long item list on your side of the screen, use an item that opens the map (like the Shining Blade Bounty Notice) to get rid of them all
@lordflunder2 жыл бұрын
but why would that bother u so much to go out of your way to get rid of the "queue"? even more so since the items disappear by themselfs after a 2secs anyways lol

There's lots of secrets in GW2 playing the game too. Here's a freebie for you... When doing your storyline, choose the Order of Whispers and rescue Demi Beetlestone. After you rescue her, you need to get her out of Lion's Arch. There are two options. One of them is to turn Tybalt into Demi and fake out her pursuers. If you take this quest, you will start out on a bridge and shortly thereafter Tybalt will turn into Demi. If you turn away from Tybalt and go UP the bridge, there will be a covered bridge to the right that will just barely skim the non-playable area. Just as you get past this bridge you will want to take a left and fall off the edge, then walk towards the ruins area. You will again get near the non-playable area, but if done right you will come out on the opposite side of the dock where you're suppose to take "Demi," completely avoiding all the guards in the process. If done right, it will only take a minute or so to finish the quest. Another gift for ya... During your time with the three orders, you get a chance to go to Triskel Quay (sp?) during a Vigil or Whispers Quest. Take the Vigil quest to go and save the people. When you do the quest, you will have a little cut scene where you see the undead attacking the city and you're suppose to fight the undead until you can get to the commander some distance away. After the cut scene, you're going to want to run towards the city, but before you actually get to it, you will want to run to the right and look for the roof of a building just over the edge of the cliff. You should see two abominations and a bunch of undead attacking a group of guardsmen, and the commander you want to talk to is there as well. Just jump on the roof and, if you have ranged weapons you can kill everything off rather quickly and then jump down and talk to the commander, ending the quest. Alternatively, you can just jump down, kill everything there and talk to the commander that way. Either way, you avoid 99% of the map and the battles you would get into on it, This one really helps speed up the key farming. Enjoy! :)
