Just discovered Lard TV so a bit late to the comments, this is great I normally play fantasy war games but I am looking forward to the first game of CoC with my grandson very soon. I love the look of the patrol phase and may even incorporate it to some of our other games. The only hopefully constructive criticism I have and this could be applied to other You Tubers too is that the table and figures look great right up to the point that the troops are bombarded with dice the size of cars, sheets of paper the size of fields and tape measures the size of tanks, when we play we insist this stuff is kept on a side table. But have to emphasise this isa minor point, overall fantastic stuff. Thanks Guys!

Loving this series and early war - I would definitely love some more PSCs for this period! I wonder how much difference the rules for casualties for a rout would have made - poor Rich might’ve not had quite as much luck with even fewer men! Looking forward to watching the rest of the campaign :)

This is a superb way to learn the game. Reading the rules gets you so far, but watching experts play ties all the different mechanisms together for a proper learning experience.

Fantastic video guys and a great game. I'm new to CoC having bought my rules etc a week or so ago...thanks for the fast delivery! The videos are an excellent way of taking the viewer through the rules and you have provided a few good laughs on the way. I am most certainly a convert and have already ordered my Early French Army. Looking forward to seeing more of the campaign. Thanks again. Cheers Keith

Well, that was a series of three hard fights to open the gap. Carnage in the early war on a late war scale. Well done on the first three videos in this series and I'm looking forward to watching Pt. #4 during tomorrow's holiday. Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to make, edit and post these great videos. I love early war battles and am looking forward to seeing some Pz I's and Pz II's in the mix. Cheers and please keep posting these cracking battle vignettes. Salut et merci a tous les Gras Lardies!

Great game fellas. The LMG team with the Senior Leader that pulled the cross country across the board, to heroically take the Jump off point, then to get over ambitious and get utterly wiped out was rough. Really showed Reinhardt to be an overambitious young Officer, trying to impress the platoon. Also.. Papa Menage should not be dead, he never rolled for what happened he was just assumed dead. Possible options for narrative. In regards to camera angles, I like the beast of war angle of looking down the board with a guy either side, means less camera work for you guys that way.

I'm a huge fan of early-war CoC so I am enjoying these very much! Our group played a 1940 version of the Old Hickory campaign that was a huge success, going right down to the final game. Question: For the newly minted German senior leader and junior leader, had they already spent one battle operating at reduced CI before rolling to see if the men accept them?

Another excellent narrative chaps. I love what Lard TV is doing. One question: At 1:17:20 Rich ended the turn. Should Nick not have removed & thrown for a routing unit ?
@toofatlardies5 жыл бұрын
You're right. I've just watched that bit again. That cheating git should have routed the MMG from the table, taking with it ALL of those attached Leaders. The resulting collapse in morale would have ended the game there and then. Now he is EXPOSED for what he is!

Great video Lardies! These videos are excellent learning tutorials - please keep them up. If I could make a suggestion it would be nice to have the camera spend more time focused on the figures and the game table, which I understand is probably easier said than done. Lastly could somebody please tell me the manufacturer of the "big house" that Nick removes the roof off of at 1:27:21.

Died in a ditch? More like died in the wide open. Some fairly rash advances on both sides. I suppose the option was to have the game bog down into a static firefight as per parts 1 & 2. Looking forward to the next vid with new terrain!

What happens if you activate a section to fire, but only one team in the section has a target? Came up the other day. I ruled that that I would need a 1 to activate team fire. Was I right?

The roll of 4 sixes also gives Rich a full Chain of Command die.

Great videos guys, but what is the story with yellow die?
@ODST62624 жыл бұрын
1:43. VAB team fires into what looks like a section in the open and Rich gets to choose teams as targets? Shouldn't it be the section with the shock split evenly and the French choosing where team gets the odd shock? If I have two 1 is moving two teams within 4 inches of each other on using the two 1 the same as adding them together to move the section? I yes when fired on are they treated, still with 4" of each other, as separate teams if I use the 1's to move them, and as a section if I use the 2? This is really confusing. If within 4" they can be moved separately using two 1's but if fired on they share the hits evenly?

1:30 14. The end run by the single German LMG team was epic. Right now I don't know they died. By the way, is the soldier in that team with the French helmet a spy?
@seanhillman10165 жыл бұрын
I enjoy these battles. Lots of nail biting action. The video itself is fine; don't need a lot of fancy bits to make it watchable. I am curious as to why the tactic is not to get all of your teams on the board as soon as possible? I see what is happening, but the thinking behind the choices is what I am after.
@toofatlardies5 жыл бұрын
Well, because, as in real life, it is better to find out where your enemy is located by recceing his positions before you decide where to attack. When you know where he is you can then get overwhelming superiority at the point of your choosing. So, in game terms you want to only deploy as much as you need to to protect your territory, but keep sufficient troops in reserve to then deploy them at the key point where the battle will be decided.
@seanhillman10165 жыл бұрын
@@toofatlardies That makes sense. Thanks!

Another great game...and the table looks awesome as well! So I notice in your games for early war, none of the cool stuff was used; Franc Tireurs or a Shabby Nazi Trick. For a 1 point, these little things really bring the flavor of the game to light. Watching this a second time...yes, a second time this morning, I notice subtitles are in use. These were not seen last night when you first posted the vid. Is this gonna be a new feature of your vids? Finally, with Rich's crappy die rolls, I see a new set of CoC die being made for attack and defend. We gamers are superstitious with our dice. Looking forward to the next game. Take care.
