Thanks guys for underlining the joy of wargaming in both your rules and the way you showcase games. I almost lost interest in miniatures gaming recently but watching videos on Sharp Practice and Chain of Commend rekindled my enthusiasm to the point where after 30 years, I'm moving back into low level tactical gaming and 28mm.

Excellent, as always. Now- you did ask for helpful comments: I think you'd benefit from one of those 'director's hub' things (for want of a better name), such as that used by the Irish lads in your CoC demo games. It gives us instant close ups of teams/squads and the dice, which helps the viewer to follow proceedings more easily- and adds to the visual enjoyment. No idea how much they cost, so if you've decided they're too expensive (you'd obviously need extra cameras as well), ignore this post... Regards, Steve.

We are expanding the kit we have, but learning as we go. In this one we are up to two static cameras and one roving one, we just didn't use them brilliantly, as with most new kit. So things should get better. We also have a better sound system that we are attempting to work out.

Honestly this is a great selling pitch for the rules, the rules are elegant and flow well and great fun has been had by all (except for those German officers!), I never was very interested in WWII wargaming but now I'm tempted to give Chain of Command a try!
@ostrowulf5 жыл бұрын
It is a great system. They also have it for a few other conflicts, to include the Spanish Civil War. The bassics of it are reasonably maliable to adjust for other modern conflicts on the platoon level, though is more aimed at conventional infantry warfare, it likely could be adjusted to uncoventional conflicts too.

I’d like to see you at the end just go through the rolling for casualties etc as part of the campaign mode. Also I was a little confused, Rich you fired two separate units at Nicks troops at one point and then he rolled for casualties and if any dead was his leader. I thought it was one unit at a time and then see the result of that before shooting another unit at the same target, and then seeing what happened with that shooting. Of course I could have miss interpreted the rules. Also when you brough a leader on the table it didnt cost them and activation, is that right/ if so we’ve been doing that wrong too. Great video series guys

@stevethompson38495 жыл бұрын
Very suspenseful! Could Nick have not had his senior leader remove shock and then order the decimated squad to move rather than moving the leader first and making them break? Also if neither of you knew the actual force morale of the other it could have been different. Nick may well have lost his bottle and pulled back. But you’d have to trust each other! Knowing precisely the state of the enemy force morale seems not quite right. Would be good to introduce some doubt about that maybe. there is no reason Nick would know he’d done such a good job killing the opposition leaders and the effect.
@donavis7245 жыл бұрын
Whilst the Senior Leader could have removed 3 points of shock, he couldn't order them to move as they pinned! However, he could have removed 2 points of shock from the team before legging it with his last activation so they wouldn't have broken immediately as they would have been 3 men and 5 shock!
@toofatlardies5 жыл бұрын
The fact that they were pinned meant that they couldn't move. If he'd rolled badly for hits the Senior Leader and the Junior Leader could have been killed as well as losing the Team; there's a real potential in that situation for a MASSIVE Force Morale drop, say four to six points. Better to suffer a Team breaks and lose one point of Force Morale and re-task the Platoon commander.

Love your videos but these two videos is shot from the wrong end of the table. The buildings are blocking our view. But nice to see that you can use your Bolt Action figures and table for other game rules.

SlotraceDK These aren't Bolt Action figures. They are the Crusader Miniatures. It's also not a "Bolt Action table"; it's built for Chain of Command.
