It's great to see you have some tame birds in your aviary! Did you tame them before adding them? Or did you manage to tame them while in there?
@CockatielCompanion8 жыл бұрын
Most have become tame in the aviary, although 3 of the cockatiels did start inside the house and were hand tame before going into the aviary. Those ones have helped tame the other birds. Thanks for watching.

Caryotagigas Birds Animals Palms that's amazing 😊 I wish mine were tame lol the only tame birds in my aviary are quail, zebra finches and canaries! Next year I'm going to attempt hand rearing as I aim to have a tame aviary of some kind. I love watching. Your videos your aviary is beautiful!

Thanks and thanks for watching. I filmed some video of the cockatiels being very tame the other day and hope to have that video up in the next few days.

It must be great to live in a warm climate so you are able to let the birds out into such a huge environment ! It makes me sad for my bird though :(

Got any tips on how to keep Red Rumps with other birds?
@CockatielCompanion8 жыл бұрын
Plenty of space so that they all have their own spots and can keep away from each other. Our Male Red Rump is fine with the other birds, but the female is a stroppy thing. The only problems I have is when the female wants to mate, then she gets aggressive when others are near her nest box.

Is it okay to just have one bird. Is it bad for it if it is all alone. (Besides me, of course)
@bplatt10698 жыл бұрын
Yes, while beautiful, red-rumps can be extremely aggressive/territorial. Keep a sharp eye on them. They won't hesitate to kill more passive birds such as your turquoisines, especially if perceived to be a threat.

I know, I am thinking of removing the Red Rumps... unfortunately.

What size is your aviary ?
@CockatielCompanion8 жыл бұрын
It is currently around 360 square feet, but I am extending it at the moment so I will measure it all again when I am done. Thanks for watching.

They were being so quiet sitting on eggs that I completely forgot about them, so don't worry, they are both fine :)
