My cockatiel loves cuddles. And not normal cuddles, either. I'll have my hand on my lap and he'll fluff up around it, like it's his baby or something.

Great to watch, I have about finished my outdoor bird Avery, but i have a concert floor , is that ok for cockatiels, if not i will but dirt down on it,
@CockatielCompanion5 жыл бұрын
There are lots of different opinions about concrete floors. Bird breeders like them because it is easier to clean. But it is cold, un-natural for birds and discouraged them from coming down to the ground to forage. Having said that, putting dirt on top of concrete can cause issues too as it is not a bottomless system like natural ground, therefore the soil will need changing on a regular basis so it does not get too full of birdy poop. It will also not wet and dry properly unless it is a very thick base, and will likely be no good for plants. Hope that helps in some way.

My bird never cares about videos...except this one if I go full screen and pretend it’s my hand that’s petting the bird. Then he gets in his feelings.

what kind of vegetable are you feeding in your Cockatiel and how many times a week 😊
@CockatielCompanion8 жыл бұрын
They don't eat much in the way of vegetables. The other birds do, but my tiels tend to leave most fruit and vege alone. They love peanuts, millet and the obvious seed choices. Everyday I put weeds and plant material, branches etc, and they prefer this 'natural' stuff over fruit and vege. Thanks for watching

I had CockatielS and they brought me immense happiness followed BY immense grief when they left. The feeling of eventually gaining their trust was beyond anything comparable in this world. To see them eager to fly out everytime they saw an open sky was equally heartbreaking. Over the period I realized I want them to be happy more than I want them to be with me. Isn't that what true love is? I was ready to have a heart break but I wasn't convinced to keep them caged. So I started to train them for a free flight and eventually lost them one day. Here is a thing. I knew they might fly away and die, but I let that happen. In my opinion by keeping them caged and clipping their feathers, I was just trying to fulfill my selfish interest masqueraded as my love for them. To you all who are fooling themselves and others as how much you love them, stop buying them and stop caging them. Stop posting this so called cute videos. These beauties do not belong in cages. No matter how much you claim to be bird lovers, you have given them nothing but a life of agony and suffering. If you are convinced that they are happy in your cages, you never saw a happy bird.
@CockatielCompanion7 жыл бұрын
Did you watch this video? Have you watched any of my videos? None of my birds have clipped wings. Or live in agony. And they are happy. I don't like seeing caged birds either and that is why I made my aviary like this and have helped many others make large aviaries to give thier birds better lives.
@abcd-zz1mj7 жыл бұрын
I have a cockatiel and he is free to come and go out of his cage in the house and spends many hours contented, playing in his nest box, looking out my picture window, or simply being with me while I do housework. He is not clipped, is an adept flyer, but prefers to climb and walk. Don't be too judgemental when it comes to others as many of us bird owners love and care for them as our own family. My bird is not clipped, but that is a personal choice. It depends on their environment they are in and how intelligent they are.
