People go to Florida on vacation and feed the alligators. It pisses me off because i lived there for 20 years as a kid and we all swam in the lakes. We all been taught never swim at night, always swim in groups, make lots of noise and they will stay away. They are more scared of us but if you feed them they loose that fear.They make it so dangerous for the people that live there. Just like the bears in tn. Once they get fed by people they loose their fear of people and they attack.

I live in Sevier county and worked for years in Gatlinburg. The visitors that come many are very stupid and do STUPID things to get pictures of bears. I worked at the far end of town near the park entrance near the restaurant the melting pot. The things visitors would ask "what time do the bears come out", "we're is a good spot to go and pet bears","we're is the place that Gatlinburg keeps the bears!" I've seen bears come into town and people would try to corner the bear so it doesn't run away and they can get a selfie with the bear! Y'all who come to Gatlinburg TN welcome,but please these are wild and deadly animals! And you are in THEIR HOMES. JUST THINK HOW YOU WOULD REACT IF SOMEONE INVADED YOUR HOME OR GOT TO CLOSE TO YOUR CHILDREN!

Bears are predators. Humans can be prey to hungry bears. Don't feed bears or don't try to pet bears. Don't cook or eat food outside. Bears can smell food even a granola bar from miles away. As the bear population increases, there are more dangers of deadly attacks. Bears are unpredictable and very dangerous. Bears can be cute one day and a monster the next.

I visited Gatlinburg a couple of years ago. Went to Anakeesta with a group. Got to the restaurant to the right and was in line to order food. All of a sudden, everyone started yelling "Bear". I actually felt safe, being around the locals that were use to the sightings and dealings with the bears. I got my phone out and got ready to film it if it came around the corner. Sure enough it did. I did not do anything and stayed far enough away from it. I let the locals deal with it, but would have ran if I was told. Everyone was told to back up and I certainly did.

@lbh4113 Жыл бұрын
I didn’t notice anything about how she says “mountain” but I’m a Kentuckian & a lot of us here say it the same way she does. Maybe they’re referring to a glottal stop where the central “t” sound is omitted from a word, like “curtain” is said like “cur-an” and “kitten” is “ki-en”, etc. That’s not an accent thing, though, that’s just a habit a lot of ppl anywhere & everywhere have. I don’t do the glottal stop all the way but I don’t enunciate my central t sounds. It’s almost a glottal stop but just slightly different.

One of the problems is that many people are attracted to these animals and that creates a false, one way bond between animal and humanimal - these critters are wild and while they can be seen playing amongst themselves at times, they didn’t come to play with you. These are wild animals, not domestic ones. There is a deadly difference between the two…

Not every bear will be aggressive, it depends on the situation but I have seen a juvenile coming to our mobile home park I live by woods if I was and it looked very depressed. It wasn't aggressive, it came right past me. It didn't bother cats that were outside. It could have easily grabbed when it looked actually very depressed. I got the feeling that its mother and father was killed by hunters. And that's the reason somebody spares lash out there. Being hunted and prayed upon by hunters. And not because the hunters need food just to kill them for sport. Maybe when it comes to the rest of it's because maybe when they were in the wild, 1 or 2 of their members, family, and we've got shot by a hunter, and not because they need to eat them God says we should never kill an animal unless you're gonna use it for food unless you need it for food. Or your life is in danger and imminent thread. You have a right to use deadly force at that point

There is an increase in bear attacks here, around Gatlinburg. Black bear attacks have always been rare, in fact it was never a concern to me as I grew up going camping in the PA mountains, and have seen and had encounters with way more than I can count. On the other hand, when I went to work for a season in Yellowstone, I was much more aware of the danger of a grizzly encounter, as I broke the rule often and hiked alone. But this attack 3 weeks ago, Im just learning about from this video...(they dont talk about attacks when they do happen around here, because it would effect the tourism income) I always just stumble upon the tragedy on here., like right now again. But I think this is the second one already this season. And I know of 2 others in the last couple of years, than one the year before those 2. All of these in the last 4 or maybe 5 years. And they were all fatal. Its very strange...And then there is the fatal dog attacks (on adults!) that is unbelievably common in the last 3 years. Another just happenned a few weeks ago, to a cop that was dogsitting for someone. He is no longer with us either.
@TiffanyTellsAll Жыл бұрын
Yes! They hide a lot where it’s a tourist place, especially when it comes to deaths and tragic events. I guarantee there are more attacks annually, however, we won’t know about them because they are documented as something different.
@time2see192 Жыл бұрын
Yes. And isn't it just a bit suspicious that they ALWAYS find the exact bear, and eliminate the threat by putting him down, almost immediatly after a brutal attack. They HAVE to say that, just like there is no record keeping, or public awareness (OR WARNING!) about the Thousands of people that mysteriously vanish from our National Parks, all too often-YEARLY. ( Missing 411) It's been said that it's so they don't lose money but that's not the reason. I did realize The case that you were speaking of actually happened a few years ago. But I distinctly remember the details and circumstances of this particular case because it was 2 friends that had gone hiking that were not from around here and towards the end of the trail they split and went different ways and were supposed to meet up with each other. When the one dude got down to the bottom of the mountain he went back to look for his friend and could not find him. I believe his car was still sitting there In the parking area and when his buddy could not get ahold of him he went to the police who then started searching for him. This was on a Friday and they did not find the man all weekend long. There were occasional updates from a Ranger on the Smoky Mtn National website, such as they were still actively searching for him, and then same thing on Sunday. Then on Monday it was about 2 o'clock in the afternoon and it was reported that they found him. The thing that still unsettles me, Is how that Ranger described finding this poor guy... He said the man was, in HIS words, "ripped to shreds." The reason this was so shocking is because that was just unheard of. They actually prefer their normal diet of nuts berries and whatever is easy, like dumpster diving. I told my husband I was suspicious...and then right at 4 pm the announcement was made that they GOT THE BEAR! Even though it took 3 and a half days to find the missing guy/victim; by golly those Rangers found and eliminated THE EXACT bear, in TWO hours after finding the man, I think his name was Mike. Suuuure ya did. Could they be hiding these things for a much creepier reason? Yes, they are. And that is exactly why I don't spend time ALONE in the woods anymore. Same reason David Pallides won't go in the National Forests.... Oh, and there is yet another Black Bear attack that is not being counted, because I researched their deceptive tally even Wickipedia is copying wrong from the other lists, but when I worked In Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina, which is only a few mountains over, there was a man that was running the campground, and he was attacked and killed by a black bear, not too long before I started working there. But, no surprise, that attack is not listed, when you consider the source- after all, the Park Service IS another government funded agency. And if anyone hasn't heard of Missing 411...might wanna check out The man who has written 9 books on the subject. 🥺 Careful out there, and don't let your children out of your sight.

I just want to tell you the reason. A bear may become aggressive is because they're being hunted. They're family, I've seen a juvenile bear wandering aimlessly here in our mobile home park. It wasn't aggressive at went right past my cats. And then try to come near me. I made Eye contact with it. The reason they're lashing out and aggressive is because hunters are killing them in their family Did not try to attack us
@rebeccasilveous8898 Жыл бұрын
That bear may have never been the one that killed him just because it's scavenging on his remains doesn't mean that bear was the one that killed him. And you euthanize the bear? What do you do with people that kill other people? You got a clue there what you should be doing? Wrong, just wrong! When your hike and camp into territory that belongs to the wild animals, you're putting your own life at risk! They tell you over and over again when you're on those trails not to be taking food that you have to cook. If he were out there cooking food and the smell got wafting through the trees and the aroma wafted up the bears nose, well you can understand what took place after that. But it was just downright wrong to kill the bear.
@TiffanyTellsAll Жыл бұрын
I think the investigation concluded he was attacked and killed by the bear and when it was actively scavenging on his body, they had to euthanize it at that time. It’s unfortunate it happened.
@rebeccasilveous8898 Жыл бұрын
@@TiffanyTellsAll What's unfortunate is how he got killed by the bear and what was he doing that he couldn't see the bear coming and was he sleeping in his tent or a hammock? If I backpack in Bear Country or bobcat country I carry my gun. I carry bear spray because you never know what might happen and it's better to be prepared then dead. He doesn't have that lesson to learn. And one thing I don't do. I don't camp alone unless I'm in my truck

As far as the accent is concerned, i don't think that it's the accent but the omission of the letter "t" in the word mountain. I don't know when it became fashionable to drop the "t" in words like mountain and boating, for example, thereby turning them into "mou-in" and "boa-in". Yes I'm old. Yes I was taught diction and enunciation in school. Something that I dare say isn't even thought of in most schools these days. But people can speak, for the most part, however they want to.
