Yes. Glassmaking can be very painful at times. Lino wanted to remind people of this

I agree....mixed emotions on this. Lino asked for us to share this as he wants to remind people of the challenges and emotional investment in glassmaking

For every artist out there, every craftsperson, seeing this is hard. But it is a reassuring thing to know that even a maestro can have a failure. Take heart, it is the essence of creation.
@twerkingtwinkies23355 жыл бұрын
This is part of it. The rush of completing something, knowing that this exact thing could happen, but didn't. The knowledge of experience gained from doing awkward projects greatly outweighs the final product.

It's sad but not the end it's the beginning of something new. Good work

how long do they take to make? I'm guessing more than an hour.
@micahangela1645 Жыл бұрын
Yes, it's more than an hour. I've been watching blown away (highly recommend), which is a competition show on netflix about glassmaking. They have 4-5 hrs to finish each challenge. One of the contestants took inspiration from Lino and it was not as close to this but she did it for 5 hrs. I think this one takes longer than 5 hrs based on the intricacy of the design, but it's Maestro Lino here that we're talking about so

It's hard to watch this again. But Lino bounces back. All you can do is start the next piece and move on. You relive the moment in your mind for a few hours and then get over it. Glass breaks... all the time.

No, it's actually really heavy and it's melted from where it's holding itself. So the "hip dancing" is an attempt to not fuck up the piece lol

No, It's not "just glass." It's art, unique art. There will never be another work like that. Each work of glass is as unique as a human. But it's an eye-opener to artists that their work can vanish. It's precious.
