What does the linsead do to the wood? Nice video by the way.

Most of the corewood had already rotted away, that takes most tension out of the wood.

It rests on the wood on translucent soft rubber bushings. Drilling hardened glass is impossible.

How did you dryed this massive peace of wood without breaking spots? Sorry for my bad english and Greetings from Berlin

How did you join the glass to the wood? or did you just rest it on the wood thanks

I have, but it's in Dutch and sending stuff abroad would be massively expensive! See duboiswoodworxDOTnl and there's a semi-translate button in the right corner.

I get so many good ideas from watching your videos. Few questions!! how did you attach the tabletop?? some kind of epoxy? Also how did uou make it completely level? Each branch in contact with the glass?
@Wayoutthere10 жыл бұрын
Hi there. The table top is 'joined' with the wood by using soft transparent rubber pads. It can't be fully attached since the glass and wood shrink/contract differently. The table is almost level, I don't mind if it's off a fraction of a millimetre. :)

***** thanks for the quick reply. Iv alwys struggled to get things like this anywhere near level.. You just draw some levels on with some planks as guides with the saw then sand them even? What a fantastic finish to the grain

I am looking for pieces like this for utility and sale in a small tea shop/gallery I am opening. Are you a full-time artist or is this a hobby? I also have a large tree in my yard (about 75 year old laurel oak) that has died and I hate to cut it down but want to do something like this with the parts. Could use some advice.

hey man, do you have an online store or website?

I simply dumped the entire thing on top of a dying fire hehe. 1 hour of soaking in hot and arid fumes of smoldering wood would have chased them all out. Besides that I charred the entire inside of the log for extra security.

I just added the annotations, I was distracted and forgot to put on the bar oil cap xD
