I live in a quiet neighbourhood in south Belfast, and a few months ago some drunk fella somehow managed to make his way into my neighbourhood and was making all kinds of noise in the middle night, so a neighbour called the police and about four or five of these PSNI Pangolins showed up filled with officers to detain him and whisk him away 🤣

@@CobraEmergency These are called Land Rover Tangi nicked named meat wagons here in Northern Ireland. They are built on the Land Rover 110 chassis and engine. They are equipped with 3mm steel sheet that protects the radiator with ballistic amour all around. The first versions in 1986 didn't have any amour on the roof and the RUC which at the time was our police had to use their shields as a second layer to protect themselves obviously this problem was fixed. These 110 Land Rovers were amoured by the RUC's own engineers. If you scratched away the white paint you will see the original grey paint of the RUC. These Land Rovers would be more armoured than the British Army's Snatch Land Rover at the height of the Troubles. There are tons of videos of them in use and they are very reliable even for their age. It is an experience to stand infront of these monsters with a row of riot shields even if violence doesn't kick off.

OVIC bought all the old defenders they could lay their hands on, ex PSNI and ex military. They rebuilt them from the ground up, drive train, brakes, electrics and latest generation armour and called them PANGOLINS ( a small armadillo type creature).
