Plate boundaries are often fracture zones and shouldn't be thought of as a crack, yet as a region where movement may occur. Plasma cores are driven by electrical properties including magnetism.

Point of clarification, lava has crystal structures that are impacted by magnetic fields. When it cools it locks those structures in place. So if you know the age of the flow and adjust for continental drift it would point at the strongest n/s. I wonder how a strong magnet would effect lava or magma.

i suggest to you as a good researcher.....go back 7 years if you can and map ALL earthquakes worldwide at specific depths....10 km deep on land or close to land and 50 km in deeper oceans.....plot them all,most brtween 3 and 5 ms....you will be looking at thousands of them,all in distinct lines
