In the US, mostly any layered dessert with some sort of cake or cookie and some sort of pudding/custard/jelly/whipped cream in between, we call a trifle. I’m sure, like most things here, the meaning has been muddied a bit and is why the dessert is so different from across the pond.

Hi from Ohio Amy! I love your channel and have been watching for a couple of years. I wanted to make a suggestion on your yellow cake mixes. Use a 9x13 pan, spray with cooking spray. Take a frozen bag of fruit of your choice; we like cherries, blueberries, blackberries or a blend of some kind. One bag frozen if it’s a large bag, and 2 bags if they are small like blueberries. Add to pan. Use 1 yellow cake mix with 1 stick of melted butter. Mix with 2 cups of chopped walnuts. Cover the fruit with this crumbled topping and bake at 350 for 1 hour. I always make it when company comes and everybody loves it. Could not be easier and I put it in the oven while we’re eating dinner so the house smells amazing and people can’t wait for dessert. Fruit Crunch is what we call it. Hope you try it!

Next time you go to a Goodwill store check the glassware section. I see trifle bowls there all the time! I read they have a hard time moving glassware because it gets dusty so quick and people only want to buy nice shiney new looking glass. They don't have time to be polishing it up.

I got up a bit late today and I was thinking of my daily must do’s, my extra do’s and one uncommon task. (Chose cleaning blinds and window tracks). I decide to watch your video. You have a contagious upbeat vibe that makes me want to get up and get at it. The one take away that was so important in this video today is it’s Wednesday, not Tuesday. 😂😂 Wednesday is garbage day and I had to go make a mad dash to the curb with the trash dumpster. When using a cookie scoop I lay out a piece of parchment paper and make all the cookie balls at one time on the paper. I like these recipes and I think I’m going to try them Have a blessed day. for trifles, we use yellow cake mix, cherry/strawberry jello (liquid form) the corresponding strawberry/cherry pie filling, custard/pudding, and cool whip. we layer cake pour the liquid jello over it so it’s soaked, then pie filling, custard/pudding, cake with liquid jello to soak it, pie filling, custard/pudding and then cool whip

Cake mix cool whip cookies i make... 1 box cake mix.... 8oz container of cool whip...1 egg.....mix together. Drop by spoonfuls in powdered sugar. Coat and put on cookie sheet. Press down slightly. Bake 8-10 minutes @350.

I made a dump cake the other day one oh my word was it delish!! Two cans of Apple pie filling on the bottom of your crock pot, a vanilla cake mix on top and a stick of butter cut up on top of the cake mix cook on low for 3 to 3 and a half hours. Top with whatever you want or just eat it plain it's delicious!!! Thanks for the recipes Amy!!

They all looked delicious! For the leftover cake you can also make cake balls by just mixing in a little icing or cream cheese to make it wet enough to form into balls. Then dip the balls in candy melts or chocolate . They freeze well too (if there's ever any left)! 😆 I always chop up my apple pie filling when I get the cans to make it easier to use in these recipes. I love the readings of Psalms. This one really touched my heart. Thank you so much for everything you do especially for standing firm in your beliefs of Our Lord!

I purchased some of the most basic ingredients to learn to start baking from scratch. I have 6 grandkids 2 girls 12 & 10 and 4 boys 5, 2, 1.5 and 9 months and I've been trying g different things to have some kind of something to do with them and I decided baking would be perfect kids love to help in the kitchen. So me and my granddaughters have baked blueberry muffins, chocolate chip muffins and chocolate chip cookies. We had some slight mishaps lol I bought frozen blueberries and they were way to big, and the chocolate chips were also very big and in the muffins they were just a bit to much but we picked some out, made hot chocolate and we all sat and watched a movie (after taking pics and sending it to their dad (my son) and their aunt (my daughter). To see how much they enjoyed it, how much fun we had made my heart feel so full ♥ I purchased the mini cooking utensils (whisk, spatula, etc) for them each, their own mixing bowls, muffin pans, cookies sheets and let them do their own batches it was the best night I've had in a long time. Thank u so much for showing how easy it is to throw things together but also how much fun it is to have ur kids join in and the pride they have on their precious faces when their done. Now everytime their here they want to bake and I'm so happy to do it. My husband said I look like a little kid at Christmas when I come home with ingredients, baking sheets etc I said I feel like one lol nothing wrong with that. Amy...You can take the cinnamon rolls flatten them as you did but use it as pie dough and fill with Apple Pie filling then top with more flatten cinnamon rolls...bake at 350 degrees oven for about 30 minutes give or take but keep an on it...now you have Cinnamon Roll Apple Pie..!!

If you use the cake mix to “flour” your pan you wont get the raw four taste on the outside. I use cocoa powder for chocolate cakes.
