@bswimber73bw one way made it tighten more, the other made it loosen more. But it works well overall. There is not such thing as putting braid on too tight. haha. Thank you for watching! Nice idea. I put a number 3 Philips screw driver pointing up in my vice, drop the spool on top, put a free weight on top. Adjust tension by changing weight.

I like the simplicity of this design, but I have one question - does the nut loosen from the spool spinning counterclockwise?
