I work in chipotle here in Texas and when I take my meal, I take white rice, pinto beans, steak (which is my most favorite meat from chipotle), queso blanco, red spicy salsa and sometimes Guac. I love chipotle food and having fun working there. It's a long order by the way, I had a customer who came in ordered me sometimes 15 soft tacos 1 week ago , sometimes 7 bowls day before yesterday.

That’s the normal amount of meat (1 scoop). Some chipotles just like to cheap out on the meat and not give you a full scoop.

What I always do is first ask for white rice (do not say extra rice yet), then once they are done, now ask for extra rice. Then after when they are about to get the meat say “sorry can I just get a little more rice” and then when you ask for the meat, they will literally give you a mountain of chicken. This is good if you don’t want fajitas for beans on it, though sometimes it may annoy the workers. Edit: and also when you ask for chicken, after say “can I just get a little more chicken but not extra, just a tiny bit more”

As a current chipotle employee; I believe these types of customers are the reasons why they have to keep raising the price of the food. Lol, the chicken bowl at Kansas is almost hit $10 now and the tortilla is now 40 cents each lol. Wayy overpriced ! Used to be around 8$ bowls and 25-cent tortilla when I started in March 2021. The whole menu price is up while the food is still the same and managers are being told by their boss to train their employees to upcharge customers if they ask for more than 2 sides; which has never happened before and control the portion side aka give it as light as you can when being asked for extra stuff except meat. I guess all the video hacks and tricks were worth it until it caught up lol. Just felt bad for those normal customers that get a regular portion and are still being charged the same price

As a Chipotle worker, we don't have a choice!! Even the general managers at each location don't have a choice. Corporate is really strict on giving 4 ounces per serving of meat (which is one portion cup full). One way to think about it is thinking about an 8-ounce steak at a sit-down restaurant. It'll probably cost 12 dollars at the cheapest for an 8 ounce steak, so divide that in half and that's 6 dollars for 4 ounces, while chipotle only charges about 3.20 for just a serving of steak. Giving the difference in quality, the price does make a bit of sense. They are really strict though.
