I heard Q-Tip and DJ Premier say with their own mouth that Large Pro taught them a lot in sampling and beat making techniques! They said because of what The Professor taught them, they were able to take their craft to a whole new level. SERIOUS!

Large Pro gets big props for his production but I personally think he's also one of the best MCs ever...his style and wordplay always keep me guessing because his patterns are unpredictable, meaning you can't guess which word he's gonna chose to rhyme, like you can with most rappers
@smokemystogies9063 Жыл бұрын
Exactly man he makes such an effort to distinguish himself and you can see by his word choices and his beats, just everything exudes large pro. And he keeps his game on point, "whys my name the large professor, cause I miked your cow in other words I hit your heifer"

I appreciate some of todays Hip Hop but it simply won't touch 90s Hip Hop because it's no balance nor is there diversity in the mainstream. That's it... Based God's Son Oh yeah, and the rappers you mentioned, wouldn't be anything without the 90s "dusty" rappers you complain about.

Large Professor is one of my favorite all time producers, however, if you know your hip hop history I am shocked that Large Pro failed to include the late Paul C as one of his favorite producers. Paul C is the one who taught Large Pro how to produce records, LP was his protege. For those who don't know about Paul C he was active in the late 80's and changed the game producing the many tracks for Eric B & Rakim (Let the Rhythm Hit Em) as well as fully producing the Ultramagnetic MC's Critical Beatdown album. Changed the game, most people don't even know about him.

Listening to him made my musical outlook expand to appreciate Jazz ethics,to where I could respect not only the rhythmic but also the historic contribution of that art form.Extra P"s rhymes were always crisp, precise and visual and still are to this day..I'm glad there's q main source reunion tour going down and more than glad that the Brother Large Pro is still hitting em upside the soul with the Soul!!
