Are we just going to act like Kanye didn't revolutionize the music industry because he's a jerk? Kanye introduced an entire new sound to hip hop with landmark albums like The College Dropout and Late Registration cementing his unique vocal pitching and soul sampling, while at the same time producing classic songs and albums like Jay Z's Takeover, Heart of the City, IZZO, Never Change, Encore, Lucifer, etc. or the entire album Be by Common. He went on to then introduce the techno and electronic sound to rap and helping it reach the mainstream eye with Graduation. He took a completely different turn on 808s and Heartbreak inspiring the entire modern generation of rap and R&B artists ranging from Drake to Frank Ocean to The Weeknd with the emotional autotuned and minimalistic soundscape. He then flipped everything on its head by dropping what some consider to be the magnum opus not just of Kanye's career, but of the 21st century in My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. An album so deep and layered in its production rooted in maximalist theory that has been consistently acclaimed as one of the finest produced albums in history. I'm not saying Kanye is #1, that right belongs to Quincy Jones and rightfully so. But to not mention Kanye West in your top 10? That's just despicable.

Justin DeCarlo Broon wasn't really "kicked out". It was kind of a mutual departure. Broon didn't want to continue into the spectrum of music that Rush was going into, which was more new-wave and synth oriented.
