Probably butane or some other flammable gas. I wonder what was wrong with many of them? I've had window AC units that are 20 years old, still work fine. Oil the motor occasionally, keep the filter clean, they'll run for years.

Myślisz dlaczego robią to kraje 3 świata, u nas musiałbyś zapłacić pracownikowi za godziny pracy, kupić odzież roboczą itp, a tego typu prace są bardzo narażone na kontuzje, a poza tym kto chciałby pracować w takich warunkach wdychając te dymy, opiłki itp. Niestety, ale ekologia i przepisy powodują, że nie opłaca się tego przetwarzać w krajach unii europejskie.

I recycle them (Im in Canada), I have better tools, but the process is similar. Theres nothing toxic in them, so the work is safe enough to do here. Bigger recyclers have machines to recover the gas, but thats expensive, so smaller guys typically do it the same way. We dont even find the old CFC ACs anymore.

Theyre all modern and CFCs where banned in the 80's. These have HFCs (R134a), a bad greenhouse gas, but it doesnt deplete ozone.

The refrigerant has no real value to them, most of the developing world uses Propane as refrigerant for the few buildings that they air condition.
