I ran printing presses for over 20 years. These guys are fast with the setup. It's like a dance with the machine. I miss it as it was a fun way to make a living back in the day.

The amount of time he saved putting the plate on rushing would be all for nothing if he caught his fingers in the machine while inching it. No need to do that, we are talking 30 seconds more to do it safely than what he did. You wouldn't do that on a Solna 125, the brakes were shocking and sometimes an inch was about 6 inches. I agree it was fun times, I ran all kinds off Offset back then from Man Ultras, Roland Parvas, Speedmasters etc, Did that from 1982 until about 1998. Then I needed a change and went into Flexo.

I ran Sords and Sorks before upgrading to an Mozp back in the late 1980's. Heidelbergs just keep on going, I havent run an offset machine in over 20 years. Switched over to Flexo running 6 and 8 colour inline and satellite presses for about 10 years. Now I just run a small print business with wide format printing, signage, apparel and merchandise. Its very different now. Cant believe those machines are still going.

Wow. I'm 70 and ran a slightly older model by myself and set records on it I was told. But to be fair as a single color with huge runs it was pretty easy

The clamp that holds the plate is the same as that of the Solna 125. Greetings from Peru.

Solnas were horrible machines, lose your fingers on them when the inch button moved a foot instead of an inch.

Eine wunderbare Druckmaschine. Doch die Einfarbenmaschinen sind durch Mehrfarbenmaschinen ersetzt worden insbesondere im A 1 Format. Zudem ist erkennbar wo überall auf der Welt deutsche Maschinen laufen. ich hatte meine Zeit noch mit MAN, Roland und Köbau besonders im Großformatigen Bereich. Zuletzt Rollenoffset Köbau S 60 10 Farben, Solna 18 Werke (Y+X) 2 Baldwin-Ausgänge

Anyone who has passed through a large printing establishment and has seen a typesetting machine and large cylinder press in operation would reject the suggestion that the typesetting machine or printing press could have been evolved and be kept running without any guiding intelligences. My physical body is infinitely more wonderful than this printing press no matter how intricate or delicately adjusted it is
