Something that I learned about finding range with a moving vehicle, is that you MAY want to creep up on targets to find the sweet spot instead of flying at full speed into the target's kill zone. Love your content!!!

Just a heads up, the small grid assault cannon range is 1,400 meters and the large grid gatling range is 800. So put your drone just under like 1 km and fire away! The large grid artillery are usually easy enough to avoid and often don't fire.

Hey LU! There is an actual Artillery Turret you can put down for Large Grid, it's way tougher to knock out than a Custom Turret too! Also, when knocking out bases from range an Assault Cannon turret (Large or Small Grid, SG one only has one cannon but works just fine) will do the job too without eating into your Uranium.

The hinge can often be fixed by changing its maximum to 89 degrees. This will usually force it out of the position that it was jammed in.

Suggestion: A new drone model with artillery or warheads for taking out large structures. The weevil seems like it would be better off repurposed as a ship-to-ship fighter.

The hinge-sticking issue can happen for any of the three subgridding blocks (hinges, rotors, and pistons), but it's a LOT harder to happen with pistons, an rotors can only have it happen if you set manual rotation limits. It stems from the game seeing the current angle of the hinge "beyond" the limit configured for it (by a tenth of a degree, usually), but it won't let you cross back across that limit when it tries to travel back. Think of it like glitching through a wall, where you can't walk back through from the other side once glitched unless you can replicate the glitch again. While DANGEROUS, you can "unstick" it by changing the maximum angle by 1 degree, which forcibly yanks the hinge/piston/rotor back into the "valid" motion range. But uh...it's very violent, and could result in a clang-splosion. Sometimes detaching and re-attaching the head will also work, which is equally dangerous, but in different ways.

Why not put a merge block on the side of the rover and have the welders move out perpendicular from the rover. That way you not building a support for your print every time. Your setup should be articulated enough for that.

I like to make a control seat or cockpit or something with projector controls on them for lining things up. Far less fiddly than using the control panel. Also there's a handy mod that adds a bottom mounted camera block. It's just the top mounted camera flipped. It would be nice if you could just change the orientation of the camera view in the control panel but I guess we can't have nice things lol.

you can build a solar tracking panel on a rotor and hinge with a weapon controler so you get the max amound of energy

Had a thought, if the drone is supposed to be disposable, why not have it harbor an explosive charge? Once it runs out of ammo, BANZAI!! A separate armor penetrating explosive drone could be cool too.

I do strongly recommend using the lock on more. It gives you a circle where you have to aim (even during move). Also some turrets have a longer weapon range than the AI can detect. If you lock on they get to their max. Range. Also the max ranges for each weapon should be: Gatling + Auto cannon + Missile turret: 800m Assaultcannon: 1200m (i think) Artillery: 2500m (i think) Railgun: 2500m (I think) Should be written somewhere and lockon also tells you if you're out of range. (NPC ai is usually limited to 600m range)

Hear me out... build a mining rover to mine out the base of the tower, it falls down, and you can use the rover to mine the ground below it so all the turrets are obscured. Or, kamikaze drones... warhard +heavily armoured front/thrusters, just full speed into the tower and kaboom

You should redesign the rover to have a robot torso with grinder and drill arms and a canon on it's shoulder. You can drive it from the head. Think Johnny 5"from Short Circuit.

for the hinge that is stuck, you could up the torque, i think because the grinders are still full o stuff, they are too heavy for the hinge to move them, maybe try and place a draining sorter in between the grinders and the rest of the vehivce, so they always empty out. love the content, but health comes first (even though being a teacher is akin to being subjected to biological warfare)

i thiink your drone is really badly designed in terms of survivability. You need to get the remote controller and antenna at the very back where uns cant just shoot it out first time. also use decoy blocks or turrets will immedaitely target the RC block.
