Musk is not an engineer. I am, and one of the most important attitudes one must have as an engineer... is to fear that things will never be as simple as originally imagined. Trucks these days more or less look all alike, and for good reason. This is the accumulated wisdom of a hundred years and millions of engineering hours to make it better all the time. Musk simply throws out all of it and imagines it "all different". Of course it does not work. Now retired, but not ONE of my projects in 50 years of engineering was perfect first time... in fact half of them were outright failures for all sorts of reasons. Engineering is NOT genius imagination or divine inspiration... it is a good idea, a good plan, funding, lots of planning, and then trial and error and the self confidence and discipline, that when it is not good enough... try again. And after a while you may have a product someone actually think it is good. Musk is so full of himself, that he imagines something and like all ego-maniacs he really thinks that all the critical work has been done at this point... after all he is a genius and they never get it wrong... lol

The only thing I disagree about is the undermining of the work at SpaceX. The scientists and engineers, not Elon, have really made some notable advances in the field. Them being excited about a failed launch isn't so much about the outcome but having succeeded at one further step to getting there.

I'm so happy the Cybertruck is not street legal in Europe. Not just because it's a terribly unsafe car, but also because of the people that would be driving it.

good point. there is a clear group of people who would buy it. Right now they are driving Mercedes G-Waggons with tuned engines.

I work at a headlight supplier who built 4 assembly lines for Tesla - two of them for the CyberJunk. And they are slowing down - they do not want to invest more into it - moreover one of the Cyberjunk's line is going to be converted to supply GM lamps.

Anyone who bought the dumpster truck bought an absolute lemon, I predict the resale value will be next to worthless within a couple of years. And apart from a few rich idiots, the regular public will not buy this. When all the dollars are counted, the cybertruck will be another Elon financial failure.

@@fiascokeI've seen him lick his lips and give an intense stare a few times when he says the most ridiculous, completely made up BS. He'll say something outlandish, take a deep breath, and stare at the person as if they are a fool not to belive someone so calm and collected. It really does remind me of the way Thernos CEO would lie with a completely straight face but always with very intense eye contact. No blinking. No looking side to side at someone's eyes or face. Just that absolutely creepy stare.
