I was also born in 81. My older brother was born in 75, and used to be a huge star wars fan when we were kids.

My little brother was into Ninja Turtles too. He was born in the early 80s also and was into that. For one of his birthdays we went to kay bee toys and I got him all 4. Made his birth day. I traded our turtles nes game for Ninja Gaiden.

I love the 2012 nickelodeon teenage mutant ninja turtles but you can't deny what an impact the original 80s one had. My mum grew up with the 80s one and I learned about the 2012 one years after it was no longer airing on TV. I now own the entire 2012 series on dvd.

Oh man. I'm curious now how you'd feel about the Ninja Turtles / Power Rangers crossover comic, given how opposite your reactions were to the franchises. They had the fun idea of having the ninja turtles actually become Power Rangers, with Hasbro actually making toys of the Turtle Rangers and everything
