We were surprised to discover the largest volcano in the Pacific Northwest. We came across the Volcanic Legacy Byway through California and Oregon and spent several days learning all about the active volcanic section of the US.
Where we stayed (Boondocking):
Lava Beds - www.campendium.com/tickner-road
Crater Lake - www.campendium.com/annie-creek-sno-park

Each week we put out a new Episode following our journey on the weekend. We shoot for Fridays but sometimes the nature of our life requires us to upload Saturday or Sunday. We also do a Tuesday video called Real Talk Tuesday where we spill the beans on many aspects of our everyday life including RV how-to, Travel Nursing and Road Schooling.

Thank you. Yes we had so much fun - I think Lava Beds might have been my favorite over the last few weeks. Crater was breathtaking too.

Thank you! It was so fun to kind of stumble on it. We didn't really know we were going to travel a Volcanic Scenic Byway when we started out. It's fun where our travels take us sometimes. Thanks for watching and commenting! And for the hat compliments :)

@@NoOrdinaryPath Your welcome! I just know eventually your channel is really going to take off! You guys do such a great job! I hope to be out there someday. I have one kiddo left at home, just entering 9th grade and she's not keen at all at rv life..so stuck in my sticks n bricks till she graduates.

Fun video. It made me remember taking my own kids to the caves at Pinnacles National Park and crawling around in the dark.

Oh man, kids are so much more resilient inside the caves. Haha! I'm pretty sure I was bruised the next day! Good memories though for sure.

We loved our visit to Crater Lake...and Newberry National Volcanic Monument. That was in 2001. Need to get back there some time.

It is cool to see that there is a NP with caves you can explore on your own. #CoolCount + 1 😜

Haha😂 don't tell her that! And yes I've been to Philmont and my father and I left more than 80 miles behind back in the day. One of my fondest memories from boyhood. You?

How do you find boon docking locations? oh i see campendium? any other apps?

It can be time consuming for sure. Our go-tos are freecampsites.net, BLM land maps, and a google search for public lands. Often states will have their own lands open to recreation such as State Trust Lands, Conservation land, etc. In Kansas there are fishing lakes that you are allowed to boondock at for free up to 14 days. Once you gather a list of potential sites, then you drive all over creation without the rig to scout it out. haha.
