Drive, determination and tons of heart, in both of these ladies. That was a war, no quit in either one of them, Great fight! Kayla going for the leg in the 5th was a bad move, not so much a bad move but you have to know when it's not there and not working get out of it, she held on too long and it probably cost her the round and the fight. It is a common mistake in MMA holding on to things that simply aren't there, burning your arms out and wasting energy. Hate to sound critical of a fight like this, they are both amazing athletes. Kayla has to learn to flow through moves and in-so-doing will create openings that are there, instead of holding onto things that aren't.

I think it's a fair decision. Larissa had upperhand throughout the fight except for round 1. Kayla stayed on top most of time, but larissa definitely dominated the striking.

I suspected also that she maybe on steriods. Her voice is fairly deep which can indicate steriod usage. Not always of course. On it's own it doesn't prove steriod usage and some women have naturally deep voices.

It looks like Kayla is focusing primarily on grappling and misses a lot of opportunities to strike. She needs to learn to ground and pound more, she is great at staying on top in the guard or half guard but when she is there she doesn’t strike

I notice that Harrison still depends too much on her wrestling. She had many opportunities to land a knee or an elbow, but she chose to hold on to a leg just like they do in wrestling when you are taken down but hold on to the leg to prevent the score. Someone needs to tell her this is not wrestling.

Kayla Harrison, whose fighting style I do not like, would be defeated if she played 50 matches with her opponent. Her only advantage is knocking down her opponent and trying to win, but Larissa Pacheco is a very strong athlete, she never gave up and taught Kayla how to punch. During the match, Kayla got punched so many times in the head that I was afraid for a second she was going to go stupid. Any athlete who wants to beat Kayla needs to throw powerful punches.

@@ufukgul3221 Are you new to MMA? Grappling and submissions are a part of that. And spiders are very effective killers by wrapping them up so they can't escape. I think boxing or kickboxing is more your speed. And Kayla beat a ton of standup fighters who tried your brilliant strategy, so you can close the book on that one. Real fighting obviously isn't for you.

Kayla Harrison could neutralize a those legs if she did GNP from half guards. LP uses her legs to sweep , force scrambles and go for submissions. She routinely relies on BOTH to grapple with Kayla Harrison. Split them with the half guard and suddenly her defense is a lot less effective.

In round 2 a commentator mentioned Larissa looked tired but Kayla looked tired too. The same guy also mentioned Kayla's ability to take a shot. If Larissa were able to tee off on her more, Kayla would have been in trouble - Ronda Rousey trouble. There's no striking in judo so there's no way to get used to absorbing that kind of damage. Might be a problem in the future...
