7:09 Henry knows how old Sam is but he's asking Sam so Sam can be included in the conversation. It's a considerate thing to do for hard of hearing and deaf folks. 😄

That thing Sam uses to write with Ellie is a common old school kids toy. Like Larissa said, it uses magnets or something to make the lines when you press down on it with the hard plastic pen. Peel the plastic sheet back and its erased.

as the writing pad goes, imagine buying a brand new piece of electronic equipment. usually on the screen theres a thin piece of semi sticky protective plastic. but instead of clear plastic on a clear screen, its white plastic on a black plastic back. the pressure from writing sticks the plastic to the backing, and to erase, you just lift up the plastic

Sam's "writing pad" is called a Remarkable, as in re (again) mark (making a mark) able (the ability to...). Very 'Yoda-esque' - "Again mark it you can"!

I read today that the showrunners wanted to change up Sam being deaf, to bring more sympathy to the character. I also read that the actor that played Sam, this was his first role and that he's a really good ice hockey player. Apparently they were having trouble finding a 7-9 year old black deaf boy that could sign, and as luck would have it they found out about him via twitter.

The other thing was he had to be significantly shorter than Ellie, and Bella Ramsay is a smurf so that was another problem, but man they found a gem

2 suicides with totally different impacts. Bill & Frank was sort of dignified while Henry & Sam was horrible.

And both were cases where one person couldn't live without the other. Frank was Bill's purpose and Sam was Henry's.

Larissa's bloater impression was priceless. And then a minute later the euphoria of seeing Kathleen reaping ignoring the infected menace only to die from it only to remember what happened to Henry and Sam in the game.

There were 2 _Clickers_ in the museum. The horde weren't clickers. I don't remember what it was called, but there's a black surface behind the film, the film is somewhat opaque, but when pressed into the surface behind it, it sticks and the black where it sticks is very visible through it. They usually have been given to small children to scribble and draw on, so the children don't get pens and markers and write all over more important things. Lift the white sheet, it's no longer stuck to the black piece, writing/drawing gone. Most excited I've seen any reactors when the swarm of infected and then the bloater, tearing through Kathleen's people.
