Hi Linda. I wanted to thank you for sharing these videos everyday. I'm a nurse, working so hard in a busy unit, always night shift. I come back home with tons of physical and emotional fatigue but getting a notification from your channel makes me so happy. Watching your fairy garden and hearing your calm voice is all I need these days. Thank you

Lovely lesson on Larkspur. I definitely understand “not presentable”! That’s why I love living in the country with no close neighbors. 😂 Also, I never, ever get tired of seeing your gardens and I’m loving the frequency of your videos these days! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! I always learn something, no matter the subject. 🙌💚🌿🌷

VERY helpful, and I will never tire of seeing your gardens! There is something slightly different each time, and something new always catches my eye. Sometimes it feels we are sitting in the garden with you because it has become familiar, like a friend/neighbor's garden. That is a nice feeling.

Hi Mrs. Vater, I absolutely love your beautiful garden! It always feels so calming, as well as, very welcoming. I truly enjoy listening to your soothing voice explain the different plants, methods, and elements that you have incorporated into this beautiful; almost magical garden. I absolutely love The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter along with its' beautiful illustrations. As we know, Peter would oftentimes visit Mr. McGregor's vegetable garden. However, when you take us on the virtual tours of your beautiful flower garden; I believe Peter himself would happily ( all be it mischievously) hide among the beautiful foliage in your garden. Mrs. Vater, thank you for sharing your beautiful garden, and the wonderful tips that you share with those of us who "tour" your garden with you. Take care, and thank you again. Respectfully, Paula

Love your garden and videos but your topiaries are my true love. I took some cuttings of Myrtle (not compact variety, I later learned) and they have grown beautifully but now have black scale. How do you treat scale on your topiaries? Or should I just throw them out before they infect my other plants? Also would love to see your process for taking cuttings specifically for topiaries. Thank you so much for all of your beautiful and informative videos.

I'm starting to realize that the secret to success in my beginner english cottage garden with my favorite flowers: larkspur, foxglove and verbascum is the self seeding (plus a little seeding help from me) but do you have any tips on not disturbing the seeds in the spring when you are doing garden clean up and might mistake them for weeks? This is something I think I might be doing.

Linda, I love seeing your garden at any time of the year. Have you ever considered spray painting a few of the allium spent blooms, maybe a deep royal blue, and let them stand in the garden? That might be fun to add a quick pop of color. Your lawn looks so perfect, is it artificial turf? I'm considering adding a small area in my garden. However, if it is actually growing grass, what is the cultivar? It is beautiful! ~Margie

How do you plant baskets without ruining the basket, or at least last a while?
@joannerobinson4037
@joannerobinson4037 4 жыл бұрын
Beautiful gardens with so much character! The basket planters are stunning. Do you move them under cover when it's raining? I'm assuming not as it would be a lot of work but I'm wondering how to protect the baskets from breaking down under all the moisture. I live in Central Florida and it rains everyday during the summer and the baskets would quickly begin to disintegrate. Thanks for sharing your garden with us.

Hi, Just watching for first time to see what you have to say about larkspur. About the beginning being "presentable", who cares about you when the garden is at its best for the camera! In my experience, real people make better gardeners than perfectly presentable ones.

What a great idea to let the plants that need support lean on something other than peony rings! Lol. That advice may seem like common sense to seasoned gardeners, but to a newbie like myself, it is SO valuable! So, thank you! Question: Did you acquire most of your knowledge through trial and error? I think KZbin is the best resource around now and am thankful to be learning from you. 🌿🌸🌷

Few videos ago you said if you had a product line that it would include baskets that are weatherproof. Or am I just hopeful and reading into things?

So glad you focused on this, and loved seeing the poppies (I scattered some seed and am hopeful to see some of my own soon.) If I put down some larkspur seed in March/April (zone 6/7 midwest) will they come up okay or should I have waited till fall? I don't know what the seedlings are suppose to look like so I'm holding back on any weeding in those little areas.

Always love seeing the backyard, it never gets old. When saving seed from your prized Larkspur variety, do you need to worry about cross pollination with another variety? Also, do you keep your unglazed terra cotta pots outside over the winter? I'm worried about damage but maybe I'm being too careful. We don't have crazy winters. I'm in Zone 8B in the Seattle area. Thanks.

Squirrel at 0:47, you have a lot of pots. How do you keep the squirrels from digging into you pots and eating your beautiful plants. I battle with squirrels and rabbits everyday. I have to put medium size landscape gravels on top of every pot I plant. I do use animal repellent on my garden beds, but it just doesn't last that long.

@@maceyloubrown I use medium size landscape gravels on my containers and it helps tremendously. Animal repellent on my garden bed which only last a few days. I also have small vegetable garden that I can never grow cucumbers or tomatoes because yep the squirrels and rabbits ate all of it and left peices all over the garden.
