*Jan Blachowicz proved that he was the more skilful fighter!* He defensively mitigated all of Adesanya’s offence, and continually reset to ensure he didn’t get walked into traps or stand still and get his legs picked apart like everyone else. Blachowicz would have out wrestled Adesanya, even if they were the same size. His timing on baiting the takedown was beautiful. He perfectly baited Adesanya every time. Jan was the better fighter.

TRUE! These izzy fans really think he's so special. The guy literally got taken down multiple times by Whittaker,, who isn't even a fucking wrestler. The guy literally just learned a take down during his camp, and used it in the fight. The only reason he has that 80 percent takedown defense, is because he hasn't gone against fighters who actually implement it, and when he does face them he gets taken down (Marvin, Jan, Whittaker lol).

I believe that this was one of the first times that Adesanya fought someone that had similar reach and look how he performed. One of the biggest reasons for his success at MW is the fact that he enjoys a huge reach advantage over all of his opponents and he is very skilled as well.

Blows my mind how salty Dana was getting that his fight was correctly scored 4-1. Jan landed more strikes in every round and did more damage in rounds 1,2,4&5. 4-1 in the official rulebooks, no disputing it. The commentary was probably the worst in any fight I've ever heard as well. Reminds of that quote "Commentators are training you how to think". Feels like they predetermined Izzy winning for marketing purposes and were then playing damage control after a clear cut loss.

I absolutely, positively do not find any appeal in Izzy beyond his fighting skills and pedigree. His persona, personality and everything else are so cringey, corny and low browed. His trash talk is so mediocre, no presence of mind whatsoever. I mean you dance and watch Naruto that's great. That's not a replacement for a personality though. It's kinda excellent how hard UFC is trying to sell him. The entire idea that he's the second highest paid star is to make the people think that he must be special. People don't know what they want, they want to be told a guy is a star.

4:17 good luck charm for Jan I see a prophecy for him. well I was betting for Izzy tbh but hopefully Jan showed up his mentality to win the fight I was sad when Izzy lost. At the same time Izzy and Jones fight were unofficial for a reason and the UFC had me broke for a while but if Michael Johnson can knock ngannou for some sorts of reason and then tapout to conor everything's possible depend upon their gameplan... -Sun kilos 6march2021 A day to remember

This was glorified sparring. In saying that it showed how great Jan really is. Izzy made a good account of himself against the big boy. Important fight for adesanya going forward if he decides to go up again.

I think the physical discrepancy really showed. Izzys speed wasn't the same and two big guys in the ring makes it hard for izzy to pick shots and evade. Jan fought well 👏

Ufc before the event.. power doesn't matter Everyone after the event.. Jan's power is super crazy They really try to push the narratives and badly. They all had Jan down and that power wouldn't matter and then tried to make out it was the only reason he won. No doubt in izzys skills but I was happy to see him take a loss and humble him for at least a night. Find him to be utterly obnoxious both in and out of the ring

Can anyone tell me why Izzy is fighting for the Belt, while being more than 5 pounds under the Weight of 205 on the scale?
@user-nv2wt4hi8t
@user-nv2wt4hi8t Жыл бұрын
I think, as you get to the heavier weights, weight disparities can start being bigger and bigger, and I would imagine they thought since Izzy is the taller man and chose not to put muscle on, they could allow it. You get people fighting for 135 who are like 133.5 and all sorts. Plus, by the time you reach ones like heavyweight, you get guys like Randy Couture fighting at 220lbs against guys like Brock Lesnar who, on the scale are 265lbs but really more like 285lbs, so 5lbs isn't a factor here.

This fight showed what I always believed but didn't Wana be called a casual. Israel's weakness is not wrestling or grappling it's actually his striking. He might be even more well rounded than he has showed. The day he will go for a takedown we might be surprised.
@adolfBBC
@adolfBBC Жыл бұрын
His striking definitely relies on cadence and range. 2 bigger men cuts that octagon in half effectively. Very interesting dilemma for him to solve if and when he jumps back up. It really showed how cerebral striking can be detrimental where there is a physical discrepancy. Despite all this izzy definitely had moments and 100 percent could've hurt Jan. The rigidity of blachowicz was impressive but not surprising the dude is game as anyone.

Whittaker was going to wrestle in the commonwealth games if not for his ufc obligations and Jan outweighed Adesanya by at least 20 pounds probably more. I hate when izzy stans say shit like “Jan won because of 2 takedowns” but putting Izzy down puts down his competition too
@joemoshowasdfjoweifojaoifdwto
@joemoshowasdfjoweifojaoifdwto 2 жыл бұрын
@@Bagelbitesgalore Whittaker is not a wrestler, and is not a good wrestler. And it doesn’t matter if he outweighed him. If you are the better fighter than you should win. Remember Randy Couture? He was always lighter than his opponents. It doesn’t matter the weight, Jan outboxed the guy when Izzy is supposed to be the better striker. weight is irrelevant when it came to the striking, and being a technical striker.

Jan outstruck Izzy every round confirmed statistically, and only Izzy only landed damage in the third. Rewatch it without the commentary and you won't be trained what to think about it. Clear striking masterclass from Jan
@adolfBBC
@adolfBBC Жыл бұрын
I don't think you're looking at it right OP. Jan put on a masterclass on the feet. Defensively and then offensively. He didn't allow izzy to open the fight into a flow state that he so often can get into. Alot of it is to do with the physical match-up but it's also because Jan is world class and has shown efficient striking before. Hats off to Jan and props to izzy for taking him on.
