There will never be another Larry Bird. My Grandfather is from French Lick and knew him and his whole family. When Larry retired my Grandfather quit watching basketball. He'll be 92 this year and still talks about how great Larry was. Great video man. French Lick is an awesome little town.

Being a Hoosier and my Dad a basketball coach, Larry Bird was and still is hero in my household.I can remember watching him when I was very young. In 2002 I was able to meet LB at Conseco Fieldhouse before a Pacers game. it was an awesome experience and moment in my life I will never forget. I have driven through French Lick but have never seen his home. That was so awesome man. I really appreciate this video man.

Great video. I was raised in French Lick and knew Larry. He and my husband were friends. We had a hair style shop where my husband cut Larry' hair when he attended SVHS. His mom was a regular customer at our shop. She would talk about interesting things Larry would say or do and then laugh and say but don't tell anyone. I sure miss those days.

I was sad to hear about his Dad but those soldiers went through and saw unspeakable things there did not seem to be alot of support back then so the family had to "deal" with the fallout. I can relate richard. I grew up in Jersey surrounded by degenerate Yankee fans. In fact the first game I ever saw was Yankees vs. Red Sox in 1961. But I became a die hard Red Sox fan in 67 and never looked back. I always think it took some courage to be a Sox fan deep in the heart of Yankee Land.

Great Vlog, Larry and the Celtics vs Lakers rivalry was epic. I got to see the Dream Team here on PDX where they held the tournament of the America's. We had Clyde as a hometown hero. I think Larry was at the tail end of his career, and his back was hurting him. He did not play as far as can remember util the crowd starting chanting Larry Larry Larry. Fitch put him in for a few minutes, and the crowd loved it. It was the only time I ever got to see him play. Thumbs up.

I went to French Lick in I think 1993 to see where Larry grew up. We found out that he lived outside of town so we drove out to his house and as we topped the hill his house was on the left. Believe it or not, he was actually outside at the time. He went back in as we slowed down. We could also see his basketball court. We went to the high school and we were lucky enough to find a custodian who let us in. That was cool seeing the court. Pretty sure the restaurant wasn't there way back then.
