What a joy to have seen Larry Bird's career from college to the pros. Simple remarkable.

On his high school outdoor courts, you speculated that Larry Light have practiced his 3-pointer. The 3-pointer didn't exist until 1979, after he graduated from college.

We were the first people to stay there when they opened. The boys came to play ball. The nets were about ready to tear off, so the caretaker took them down and gave them to the boys and went out and bought new nets. We have them in a shadow box. The addition on the back side of the house had a huge beautiful bedroom suite that was build for an NBA friend....Magic Johnson. The pool was great as well as the tennis court. We had so much fun staying there!

Fun video. I was fortunate to have Larry as my P.E. assistant his senior year (I was in the 8th grade). Larry became my hero one day in gym class when he got my t-shirt out of the rafter before the whistle blew before inspection (it's a long story). From watching Larry shoot jump shots 30 feet away while jumping on a trampoline to seeing him go from a 6ft 2" guard his Jr. year to a 6ft 7" forward his senior year but not only could he still handle the ball like a guard, Larry would grab a defensive rebound while guard, "Beezer" would be on his way to the opposite end of the court, Larry would throw the basketball like a baseball so precise many times Beezer didn't even take a dribble. He would catch it and lay it in. There is a NEW Larry Bird book coming out this fall by Author Randy Mills (Dr./ College Professor) titled "As If By Magic". It's about Larry's high school days, his coaches, teammates, some of his opponents, friends in town that he played ball at the park courts, etc.... and a Very unique Double Chapter titled, "The Forgotten Blackhawk". I was able to take a sneak peak and it is by far one of the best documented, investigated books on Larry Bird I've ever seen. The book isn't just about Larry, it's also about the people who helped Larry become the GOAT. It's a Great Read and Very Positive. I like Larry and a lot of kids in the Valley area didn't have a lot of money. From the moment Larry got my shirt out of the rafter through his college, pro player, coach, Management and the commercials with the latest being an insurance commercial (note the Springs Valley Blackhawk sign when he goes into the attic) I can't help but smile. I've been proud of Larry for 50 years. Dang, I'm getting old!

That house was not his childhood home..This house has been rebuilt..when he lived there it was white and rundown..it was smaller and a dumpy looking..You should do more research...Tell the truth how it really was..You was not even born when he played..Also there was no 3 pt line on that court where you are now saying larry shot 3 pters there..There was no line back then...
