It's Been Said; Magic Made Easy Passes Look Hard & Bird Made Hard Passes Look Easy.

You couldnt get a ticket when the Celtics came to Phoenix in the 80s. But, I lucked out in 84. In the game, Bird threw two full court passes for scores.Even if I get dementia, Ill never forget his box score : 31-12-8 2for3 threes. He left the game in the fifth minute of the fourth quarter. Celtics won by 18. One of the luckiest things in my life.

He led the league in “assists laying on the floor”. It was a joke by the announcer celebrating his hustle and court awareness to get the ball moving. Yeah, it was pistol Pete.
@jackiesteele50244 ай бұрын
Bird's accuracy on those full court passes is mind blowing!! He always knew where everybody was!! He was three plays ahead of everybody. It's been said Bird was playing chess while everybody else was playing checkers!!!
@Alice-xy3fi16 күн бұрын
The announcer didn't say Bird led the league in assists; he said he led the league in assists laying on the floor-- i.e., he had that much hustle, and that great an ability to know where everyone was and get the pass to them through traffic, while lying on his back with the ball in his hands, often/usually absolutely encircled by opposing players. I am just loving your Bird reactions-- a lot of reactors just don't get him, and what he's doing, the way you do. I also love the attention and respect you give the game, including your willingness to rewind and rewatch in order to examine the more surprising, spectacular, hard-to-follow, etc., plays.

I saw Parrish interviewed and he said he probably got 5000 points directly from Bird passes. He said Bird would make sure everyone on the team was involved in the scoring.

Larry as a rookie took a team that only won 29 games the year before to winning 61 games and that was without McHale perish or anyone else. The following year they acquired McHale in Parrish and McKale came off the bench as a six man and he took them to his first championship, he was amazing. He was the best all-around basketball player. He could do everything keep watching you'll find out just how amazing you was. He was so fun to watch great reaction. You need to watch some of his trash, talking videos and the videos that showed how he played injured there are two really good ones one is called five times. Larry Bird played heart and four crazy stories that prove that Larry Bird is a toughest NBA player, and when you really get into you should watch courtship of rivals that really tells the story of Larry Bird and magic where they came from how they played and how they became really good friends

On those full court passes… you’ll note he does it with both left and right hands. He was ambidextrous.
@RogerBartholomy4 ай бұрын
Another thing that sets Bird apart from Magic is that he was always a threat to shoot...which people feared. So he normally drew a double team.
@Alice-xy3fi16 күн бұрын
I may be mistaken, but I don't believe he was naturally ambidextrous. I think he was a righty, but taught himself to shoot and pass with his left hand, simply because he was just that committed to improving his game, and just that driven to win.
@iambecomepaul16 күн бұрын
@ I should have added, “on the court.” Yah, I think he’s mostly a righty but if I was a betting man, I’d guess he could do other things lefty. I’m like that… billiards, skeet, anything “aiming” and I’m left handed. Play golf righty.

It's so funny you said, that Bird must have played baseball, because my Dad used to say. that Larry's game, reminded him of someone, who wasn't only playing basketball, but also, volleyball, dodgeball, football, baseball, soccer, & strategic chess, all at the same time, & what made him so great 😊He certainly was one of the most unique & gifted players, I ever watched! I would love you to react to the video, Larry Bird STORIES that prove he's the BEST TRASH TALKER, told by NBA players: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGislWtuiZp3htWa if you haven’t already seen or reacted to it 😊

So those who know, know......Larry was a better fundamental player and all around threat. He was always dangerous...off ball or not. He not only excelled in more aspects of the game over Magic, He had unequalled Bball IQ and court awareness....He could shoot 3s all day, he won the first three 3 point contests but he used them strategically especially in clutch situations....that was his "dagger straight through the heart" and he was an exceptional leader and role model, also a huge singular phenomenon on his own but he as the definition of a true team player....stats were not his focus or goal....W's for his team is all that mattered, and rightly so. He is a fascinating man, had it tough growing up poor in a big fam, had some tragedies also, personally and familial,,,but he was never held down by any of it, and did not let it make him a cynical, bitter, miserable hater. If you're ever so inclined...there are some quality vids on here that dig a bit deeper regarding personal and professional lesser known facts...his friendships with MJ and Magic, who is one of the few kindred souls in LBs life and they are tight ...real genuine love for each other that a lot of fans or people in general especially the younger ones maybe aren't aware of, Larry is also a good friend of MJs...they golf together! He is my GOAT for more reasons than just basketball awesomeness ...it's the man himself, his values and personal principles, sense of humor and the honesty and kindness that is his manner (off court, lol) Never a negative word or implication concerning other players, never (and even his shit talk was real & honest)..not even about Bill Laimbeer who was the biggest steaming pile of unfortunate genetics, with the mentality and emotional maturity of a 12 year old asshole. He played a vicious dirty game on the court as well as in his personal life...he not only played like a fucktard, he was truly that sort of person with weak ass character, intimidated by everything with an inferiority complex, who uses the underhanded tactics to divert t attention away from the reality of his unworthiness to be in the NBA. Oh BTW I dislike Bill Limbeer .....I just can't like him. SOOOOOO ttyl!!!!

Great reaction. Bird is better than Lebron and Magic. Please do: Stories that prove Larry Bird is the best trash talker. 15 minutes of facts about Larry Bird. Bird is the Word highlights.
@kokomo97644 ай бұрын
The game has changed since Bird's days. It was rougher, faster, and more dynamic than today. LeBron would be caught flat-footed in every game. I know you saw the Pacer game where Bird was injured. He had a fractured right cheek bone and a concussion and came back and beat the Pacers. He walked off after the injury by himself. Today, a player injured like that would have been escorted by trainers, a coach, and probably a couple of lawyers. He would not be back for a couple of weeks. That is the difference, and why LeBron will never be as good as Bird.

I defy anybody to tell me there was a better full court passer than Larry Bird. And he was doing this with a broken and deformed finger on his shooting hand, yet is considered one of the greatest shooters of all time. Next chance you get, please react to his 60 point game against Atlanta, or his famous trash talking video's, or his left hand game against Portland!! Pete Maravich was on the Celtics during Bird's rookie year. Pete retired the next year. In the near future, please react to Pistols 68 point game against the NY Knicks in 1977, with no three point line. Ridiculous!!

Magic did TWO things better than Bird. he averaged more assists per game and more steals. stats a POINT GUARD excels in. Bird did EVERYTHING else better and he was great at passing and steals too.. if we go by stats, Bird is better all around yet Magic STILL has better all around numbers than 95% of players EVER.. Bird is just mr ALL around.. best all around stats and that is a FACT.. dont argue until you check the stats.. at least 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists per game for an entire CAREER.. NOONE has done that.. NOONE.. and if someone DOES do that again, they'll ALSO have to shoot 50/40/90 mutliple timess AND lead the league in defensive winshares 4 times, THEN they can be in the same category as Larry Bird. as of now, him and Jordan sit on an island alone playing golf.
