This gun was also used in the video game, Resident Evil 7. And it was brought back in Resident Evil: Village. The gun in both games are absolutely powerful, it can completely blow the heads of the monsters in the games in a single shot.

Glad to see Larry is still involved, since he was there from almost the beginning. On another note, kind of sad how the original designer/creator Max Gera (who is still alive) got swept away by Harry Sanford at the first smell of money. Thanks Max, this cool looking piece wouldn't be here today if it were not for you.

I would love to own one of these, but unfortunatly I live in the Nanny State of Australia where owning anything to protect yourself, your family and your property has become an offence. Never allow yourselves to be conned out of your firearms like Australians were in 1996!!

I have owned an AMT 380 Backup, as well as an AMT Longslide. Both guns were VERY high quality in construction, and to think that the new version is improved is impressive to say the least. Thanks for giving this American icon, another chance Larry. Hopefully, an improved economy will help to sustain it's survival and popularity.

It's been included in a few video games like the Resident Evil franchise so that might tell you why it's so popular among new shooters.
insane price, i'd be in around $1500, but no way 3700, bring the price down to or close to AE 50

Automag is like the BMW. People buy BMWs because they are fun to drive. If they want a reliable car to go from point A to B, they buy a Toyota Corola. Obviously the inventor was trying out advance concepts that can always be refined. Long live Harry who had courrarge to try new things.

Wonder if they'll offer a barrel, spring (and/or magazine) swap to .50AE. Could really give Magnum Research a run for their money.

@@AndyCinDallas no need to buy a proprietary cartridge that will take years to become mainstream IF it becomes mainstream. A gun you can't find ammunition for is a paperweight. The best way to avoid that is chamber it in a caliber that already is mainstream. .44 Remington Magnum is available anywhere that sells ammunition. Feeding rimmed cartridges in a box magazine isn't as difficult as it once was. Magnum Research and Coonan have proved that.
@AndyCinDallas5 жыл бұрын
@@chrismc410 - who cares about mainstream? The caliber is what it is and I have no issue finding ammo or cases for handloading. With that said, I think they just need to get the damn thing out the door successfully *first* before fiddling around with other calibers.

Really would want to get one, but close to 4 grand is WAY too expensive. I’m a huge fan of the Dirty Harry movies and recently purchased a Model 29 exactly like the one used in the movie for $800, and I’ve seen original AutoMags for less than $2500 so it kind of baffles me why they’re this expensive
@AndyCinDallas6 жыл бұрын
Simple - economies of scale. 100,000 revolvers are cheaper to produce per unit than a small run of a precision-made custom pistol.
