Larry Hagman found fame and fortune playing one of TV's most iconic villains, J.R. Ewing on "Dallas," but his daughter alleges he had a lot in common with the rogue he played. Kristina Hagman wrote, "The Eternal Party," where she details life with the legendary actor. Hagman first hit was "I Dream Of Jeannie" in 1965. When that show came to an end, it was tough on the family. "We would have to rent our house out and go camping around America to live for free." #InsideEdition

She didn’t say anything mean about him. He admitted he wasn’t a perfect person time and time again. This is what made Larry Hagman human. He was often willing to extend a helping hand to those in need before and after he made it big. Offered to pay for RDJ’s rehab, fought to get the cast of the show raises and wouldn’t come to work until they got equal pay, tried to help Hugh O’Connor with his drug addiction and stood by his father during their personal battles, looked out for Patrick Duffy for years before and after the show. Man there’s a list of things I can list about this guy. I remember how kind and approachable he was when he visited Atlanta back in 2010. Yeah he had his demons and his daughter wrote about them but at least it’s not coming from a half assed tabloid, it’s coming from someone that saw him through it all and still thinks the world of her dad. He was a hell of a dude and admittedly human.

The only difference JR would have never raised or tolerated such a treacherous child . Fair enough family ties can be strained and troubled often times . But to go on national tv and write a book to cash in . That's a pretty low trick. JR always had certain boundaries when it came to his family and I bet Larry did too unlike his daughter .

They were not private. If you read enough from that time period everybody and their brother knew he was a drunk. He also very publicly required a liver transplant in 1995. It was made clear in the media he drank for 40 years which caused cirrhosis of the liver which caused liver cancer and without it he would die so he very nearly drank himself to death. No secrets. She talked about what everybody was aware of.

However early of this year i just started watching i dream of Jeanie rerun. Really love the 4 conedians and really put a smile on my face. I can watched any episode of Jeanie and i can laugh but i can't do that with Dallas. Funny i am half a century old and i just discover i dream of Jeanie of the 1965 comedy show..Larry is brilliant in the show...

He basically did. He had to have a liver transplant in 1995...due to liver cancer, due to cirrhosis of the liver, due to 40 years of hard drinking. So do not discount his 9 bottles of champagne. He may have opened 9 bottles but in an alcoholic stupor he may not have known exactly how many he emptied or how many days a week he did it.

Larry has admitted all this on interviews. He's an open book. He had nightly parties at his Malibu house. His daughter was raped at age 8 by his party guests. At 15 she locked her bedroom door or left the house when he had parties. Larry was a known pot head and promoted LSD. He was a great actor on Dallas, but he had an open marriage & wild lifestyle.
