Thanks Jasin for a fun chat and making me feel comfortable...I'm terribly self conscious being on the other side of the camera. I mention in our chat about the impracticality of shooting on film, on a film set...but of course for decades as Unit Photographers, we all shot on film (often even on chromes) . Digital was a game changer for us on set and eventually simply a necessity with the advent of Digital Movie cameras with incredible low light capabilities. As much as it's a romantic idea to shoot film on a film set... it's simply not practical, nor even possible in many situations on today's film sets...lights levels being the largest of many factors.

Correction: Actually W. Eugene Smith's NY darkroom was in the Flower district there is a great documentary (The Jazz Loft, according to W. Eugene Smith) about the time when was living there...very much tied to his connection to the Jazz Musicians whom also shared space in the building.
