Its probably a metre a month. Maybe add 500k or so to that, on the upper side. These things depend on the strength of the CV and the total region they cover - local correspondent, national correspondent or regional etc. Of course, anchors are at another level. And some correspondents specify on certain subjects e.g. politics, health. For a regional correspondent, hat figure of USD 51,000 is definitely not monthly (that's too much), and neither is it yearly (too low). What im happy about is that we will stop seeing the white blond south african commenting on East African black issues - it was so pre-colonial.

WRONG MATHS . Salary in the US is quoted per annum. So $51,000 divide by 12months = $4250 per month. Less taxes plus some allowances here and there. I'm a Kenyan in the US . By US salary standards, that's average / entry level income for a degree holder.
