I was a sophomore at Georgia, watching the game at a friend's house in Warner Robins. I had a speech class with Lindsay Scott that semester. When he walked into that class after the game, the everybody erupted in applause. The first time I heard a replay of Larry's call was that same week. It gave me chills then. It still does, 43 years later.

This was probably the best call of all of his calls. Bar none. This one is number one

Having grown up on Saint Simons Island and being there during that game and later that night, I can tell you it was one hell of a party!! We always had the game on the tv, with the volume off, listening to Munson on the radio. We were all loving it when he was giving us the shout out!! Awesome memory!

I moved to Georgia about the same time that Herschel went to Athens. I grew up listening to John Forney and Alabama radio but in those days you only got the dawgs in South Georgia. Larry took awhile but he started to grow on me after a few games. This call made me a lifetime fan of Larry and the Dawgs. I hope he broke St Peters chair when Kelly Ringo scored against bama. "a big old golden throne with about a five inch cushion"

Although I am a Ga. Tech fan & former student, I will miss Larry Munson. When GT played UGA, I'd always have the TV volume turned down to listen to Larry's call of the game on the radio. Sure, he was "the enemy," but he was the best college football broadcaster ever. Period. There will never be another like him.

Grew up a GT fan in the 70s and 80s, but no one but no one called a football game like Larry Munson. I can still remember sitting in front of my little AM radio on many a fall Saturday. Thanks for the memories, Mr. Munson, you will be missed.

Larry Munson is the definition of a "color man". Just explaining what is going on is not enough. You have to bring the call to life; spice it up with comedy and flair. And that's just what Larry did. RIP Larry Munson
