Another thing that is so fkg annoying is that this modern benches in my gym have those arms where you rack your barbell in way to high so if i go full stretch i hit it ...

I have used a Larry Scott Preacher Bench many decades past, and it was and is in my humble opinion the best bit of equipment ever design. Brilliant in it's simplicity and extremely effective in building the biceps. Thank you once again Rudolph for presrving our muscl culture history. Oh.. congratulations on your acquisition of a fantastic bit of equipment. God bless you and your family!

I really hope you or someone gets the specs and sells them again. I talked with the company about a year ago and they sent me all of Larry's DVD's for a great price. They said that they were trying to find a new company for production, but nothing has materialized. @@ForgottenFitness

I think I might be the one that invented the Spider Curl on a Preacher Curl Bench that wasn't meant for it, when I was younger in HS 2006 at Gold's Gym. I'm the only one in the gym that would actually use the preacher curl bench backwards (on the ones where the pad was NOT removable) to have my arms go perpendicular to the ground, and then I would remove the seat so my arms could go all the way down for just about a half a second to then curl it back up and then concentrate more on the 90 degrees or higher my arms would be because there was more flexion on the biceps and better than any other bicep exercise. And of course on the curl benches where the pad was removable, I pulled the whole pad off and turned it around so I could sit down. I have also worked biceps on this Larry Scott’s Preacher Bench and did exactly what you did in your video - But again I'm the only one that did Spider Curls on it to take advantage of the vertical pad. I have Never done (well... just once) 45 degree free weight barbell curls because I immediately felt absolutely NOTHING on biceps for obvious reasons. But... using the Cable Machine with 45 degree curl bench does work the biceps very well for again obvious reasons. For some reason, even at the age of 13 I could look at any equipment machine and tell if it would hit that body part the correct and effective way. I remember seeing this Larry Scott’s Preacher Bench and immediately knew that I would be using it on Bicep Day :) I remember seeing other preacher benches that weren't a Larry Scott Preacher Bench with the same triangle pad but there would be no way for me to find out the manufacturer at this date. I stumbled upon you channel because I'm looking to buy a cheap or maybe not so cheap preacher bench for ONLY doing Cable Preacher Curls - (although I might end up making my own Rack Mounted Preacher Curl Bench for Cable Curls) and I'm glad I saw your video and remembering back to the day I trained on that Larry Scott Preacher Bench.

I wanted to buy one but was a broke kid, at one point they were like $1500 for a 3 pack: Preacher bench, Spider bench, Forearm bench. I tried making my own but the wood kept bending inside the preacher bench and stabilizing the spider bench didn't go well (it was like a motorcycle video game at an arcade.) I worked out at 2 gyms that had preacher benches comparable to his with the shape 90% there but the weight support getting in the way. One closed and was out of the way, my local gym was the other and I tried to buy it as well as a very good overhead press machine that I could lift much more than usual on. They told me the equipment was pre donated and rattled of a list of all possible forms of charity. All gyms bulk buy generic equipment, even the $300/mo gyms like Equinox. If I had a gym I'd mfr the 3 benches I wanted to buy from Larry, the 'triceps toaster' (I saw him use it, wasn't listed when I went to his site) and that overhead press machine (sci fit international or something, it was $5k when I worked out there; since then I saw a $1k plate loaded version.) Outside of swing squat, tapered wrist roller and far infrared sauna and cold plunge tanks the rest can be generic as long as it's solid and comfortable. Maybe hourglass dumbbells and some specialty bars that are locked up and only available to trusted members.

Awesome video! I’ve used a few preacher curls before and never liked them! The angle is always too steep and I wasn’t comfortable. Why did they ever change the original design!?!! I want to try Larry’s one so badly haha
@ForgottenFitness
@ForgottenFitness Жыл бұрын
They changed them to save money. The curved pad takes more material and more intense manufacturing.

They still sell this exact same bench on Larry's web site for $997.00. when l went on line l found the same bench for sale at different venues, so l don't know why you had so much trouble locating one. Great piece of equipment Larry was the best of his generation. RIP Larry.

So, you explained everything, but never ACTUALLY DEMONSTRATED the Scott Barbell Curl, Dumbbell Curl or , Reverse Curl. What was the point of the video, if you aren't going to demonstrate the exercise as it should be?

@@ForgottenFitness yes, I've actually been to Larry Scott's company and even made a recent visit to his Gravesite. I guess that qualifies me as new. I've seen all your other material. You actually give demonstrations, unless video footage isn't provided, you also use still pictures for examples. NONE OF THIS WAS DONE. I'm disappointed. I was looking forward to seeing this video, I was let down
@ForgottenFitness

Relax and breathe. Your demeanor is not helping your case. Just so you are aware, I know Bailey too. I’m doing more for Larry’s company than you can ever imagine behind the scenes. This was not cheap and I will be making as much content with it as I choose. Anyways, I will be posting plenty of video demonstrations various different exercises in the future. Thanks for the comments! P.S. All of the content I provide on KZbin is 100% free. If this video bothers you so much, why don’t you just…you know…not watch it and move on?
