Another great presentation. I found a CAR-15 like that in Philippines. I thought "what in the world"? M16 upper and AR-15 Colt lower, and only 2 butt stock positions on the buffer tube. Later I was pleasantly surprised Larry and Ian on Forgotten Weapons confirmed the model and features. Colt was using up whatever parts they had. Philippines had also supported the Vietnam War and adopted both the M16 and CAR-15.

I was buffing the BDE HQs on FT Gordon GA when Panama happened. I remember distinctly, the Staff Duty NCO watching TV, and the News interruption of the 82nd and Rangers jumping into Panama. Basically, 10 years later, I ended up as BG Bargewell's RTO when he was SOCEUR Commander in Stuttgart. Incredible Man and Officer to work for. Rest in Paradise EAB.

Interesting story I have a friend in the Navy that was in on that raid. It's a must-read because my friend couldn't talk about the details of the operation.

(If you see this Larry)- Brownells has a lot of C7/C8 repro uppers for you to do some experimenting on for that homemade weaver flat top. I’m sure folks would love to see it in function even if it’s not legit colt upper components being used.

It would be cool to see Larry do a video on the major developments in the carbine from this point to current day. The past 15-20 years has been a massive change.

in the documentary, the leader of the team that went and got Muse did a phone interview and said that they actually cut i believe a chain on Muses' prison door, but he said that its Muses' way of telling the story, that he likes to tell it that way, that they blew the door, but they didnt in actual fact. Just wanted to add that detail.

Mr Vikers former Jarhead grunt here, also a combat veteran, I just learned that you are goofy eyed like me, I was also a PMC that trained Marine Advisor teams for deployment that were made up of like 3 grunts and 20 butchers ,bakers ,candlestick makers and NVG repair guys ; on the Marines Combat Marksmanship Program, Some of these cats hadnt even setup webgear correctly. So I like you shoot long gun left handed and pistol right due to micro manipulations needed for most handguns. Have for many years. So I caught shit for having carbine mags on my right and pistol mags on my left, pistols holstered right, and when we broke these teams down for PCC PCIs and dryfire and immediate action drills we ID’d the crossdominates (should have been done at boot) and I taught them the same way, as all were dual armed for the first time in their lives and we were using Bindon due to ACOGs issued and they all had nice new toys like PEQ-15s etc. I almost never hear about this subject. I feel the way you and I do it is correct, I dont gaffle a shooter who is hitting what he or she is aiming at but I still feel how we shoot is the correct way for a cross dominate. Believe me I have caught some shit for it ! I even went to a pretty well acclaimed course wont name names and had a virtual god in the community try and make me switch to shooting pistol left handed after Id done it our way for over 20 years. The command and company I worked for at II MEF knocked it off though when they saw I actually had my shooters shooting,moving, communicating, reloading on the hoof, no ambi controls mind you (although I always used a Norgon Ambi catch on my carbine for demos, Corps actually authorized them finally and I swapped mine on and off) and shooters actually could hit what they were aiming at using Bindon, And boy can you really get some juice when they want you to do a “transition” and you have both those weapons pointed at the target for a split second at the same time, with BOTH firing hands on pistol grips.

Eldon Bargewell was a hell of a man a friend of mine went through SF training with him in 68. He used to talk about 2 events on is the legendary story of the chicom vest saving his life the second is 24ish years later about the time my friend got out he ran into Eldon on a base in the states they recognized each other I don't know if it was after he made general or was about to become one the way my friend told it he was a general. but the topic of one owing the other a drink came up and next thing he knew he was sitting at the bar a master sergeant with a general having a few too many drinks telling war stories he said it was probably the most inappropriate thing he ever did but generals can do what they want .

Hey Larry Did delta actually paint their rifles or is that just in movies like BHD?
@jason1182000
@jason1182000 4 жыл бұрын
Look up pictures of Delta from around that time, some of them do actually have painted camo on their rifles. Something interesting I find about BHD is that the prevalent use of 727 carbines being used by Delta Force is technically incorrect (they primarily used 653 and 723 carbines). Hoping LAV will cover BHD on his at the movies series.
