Larry makes me smile. I always liked him past his prime WCW days

I remember hearing about the motorcycle accident and his prosthetic foot from my mom who bought a Star magazine or the Enquirer I forget but anyways there was a whole article in the magazine about Kerry after he passed. I didn't ever really know. I remember one of his boots looked fatter than the other but I didn't think anything of it. I started putting in my wrestling movies of Kerry as the Texas Tornado and tried to see if I could notice his prosthetic foot by the way he moved and I started realizing he would always jump on one foot if he did a leap frog or do a cartwheel for a drop kick. Also most of his attacks were punches. I also noticed when He beat Mr. Perfect with the slingshot I saw some screws at the bottom of his boot. When you watch his performances before the accident you see him do all kinds moves and dropkicks. He was really a good wrestler and athlete. He still managed to pull off entertaining performances though as the Texas Tornado. He was one of my favorites. I still have his Hasbro Figure. I remember they had him team with the Ultimate Warrior and started having fringes on his boots like Warrior. I thought he was Warrior's brother. Now I see why used the fringes and teamed with Warrior to help hide the puffy boot and by teaming with Warrior it just made it look like he was dressing like the Warrior for their team. He also changed his boots most of the time to black to also help hide it. Anyways I Love Kerry and I Miss him and all the others so much! Always Praying for you.

It was his right foot. In a story by Kevin Von Erich he described the motorcycle accident and what foot it was. He said he walked on it after having surgery and thinks thats why the foot never healed properly and the circulation to the foot never developed. So the doctor several weeks later had to amputate the foot. It was very difficult to tell that it affected his wrestling. But I imagine he was in extreme pain most of the time.

I didn't know till after he died and inside addition reported he had only one foot wrestling.. That's why he's the "modern day warrior" And it's "Living Legend" Larry Zybszko

I admired Larry throughout hi career, and Kerry was just simply amazing I wish the tragedies that bestowed the von Erich family had not happened, the whole family was based in wrestling such a great loss of talent.

I Remember It, I was stationed at Nellis AFB back then and my wife worked at the Showboat. She would get employee tickets for AWA Wrestling and we would go to the matches every month. The Showboat was a Great place for Pro-Wrestling. The crowd was shocked seeing Kerry's boot come off, so was Col DeBeers! I couldn't believe they continued the match. I remember the crowd always yelling LARRY SUCKS when he came out to Wrestle. Great Times!!!

Roddy Piper who was close friends with Kerry said he was the only guy that Kerry felt comfortable enough to see his foot without the prosthetic. I saw in a Kevin Von Erich interview where even after his death the Von Erich family didn't want it known about kerry's foot out of respect because Kerry was very self conscious of it. Also Kevin said it did not happen purely due to the wreck. they tried to save the foot but Kerry refused to rest and take time off and after surgeries he injured the foot so severely that they could do nothing else but amputate. Kerry had been arrested for his second drug offense. The judge went easy on him on the first conviction but with the second one looming, jail time was almost a for sure and he killed himself before finding out his punishment. He also told bret hart the famous saying that his death was inevitable and that his brothers were calling to him. sad story. RIP Kerry.

Melanie L he made an aborted comeback attempt against Brian Adias at either the thanksgiving or Christmas show at Reunion Arena in 1986, only 5 or 6 months after the accident that didn’t air on tv, and many believe that’s where he reinjured the foot so badly that it had to be amputated. Again, as you said, due to Fritz pushing him to get back in the ring as quickly as possible. When you read a lot of these stories it really paints a picture of Fritz as a controlling, abusive father who pushed his sons beyond their limits mentally and physically and made a fortune off of their efforts.

Roddy Piper lied constantly and can't be taken seriously. He also claimed to be near Mt. St. Helens when it erupted.

This was back in 1990ish. T'was a long time ago.

Baron Von Rahske was bald , used the claw, and goosestepped(ironically the man who portrayed Baron was a teacher). Col.DeBeers gimmick was a South African apartheid/racist (portrayed by a long time wrestler from Canada, who really got over with the gimmick)

DeBeers (Ed Wiskoski) is actually from Missouri. Had a pretty decent career in Portland as "The Polish Prince" Ed Wiskoski.. Von Raschke (Jim Raschke) is from Nebraska. Was a collegiate champion wrestler at the University of Nebraska.
