Always thought Zbyszko was the funniest heel in WWWF. It was genius of him to do the heel turn. “I’m sick and tired of beating you Bruno, I mean it’s easy and all...”. Hysterical.

Back then, there was no wrestler I hated more than Larry Zbyszko (in a good way). I was a huge Bruno fan and felt personally hurt when Zbyszko “turned” on him. Larry played the heel so well! The whole thing seemed so real to me at ten years old.

I grew up in McKeesport Pa. In the 70s. Me and my dad would go see them wrestle every time the came to town. Some of the best farther-son times.

Lots of family up in Pittsburgh. Italian. Bruno is not hard to run into. I had an uncle that taught Bruno's kids in school. Never heard a bad thing about the man. The word I would associate with him, is "class." That's usually the word I'd hear time, and time again. 2nd most? "Strong!" lol! Bill Watts said, that Bruno was the strongest man he ever trained with. He mentioned the 565lb. bench, IIRC. I think his best ever was 590lb. No powerlifting suit. Just raw. The late Mike Webster of Steelers fame, said he saw him do 5OOlb. for several reps. Boom! Boom! Boom! No arching, no bumping.

I'll give it to Zbyszko.. it's easy to say he looks creepy.. when you age past your 40s and 50s you start looking differently no matter what you do. It's pretty deluded to say he simply is a creep for looking older. Of course he's going to look older. Only Larry and his crew knows Larry. Personally speaking I loved Larry in WCW broadcasting. He was a great seller and he did a really good job for us growing up in that Era so for that I give the fan praises to Zbyszko for helping make WCW the magic that it was. SO a big thanks to Larry. All great things unfortunately do come to an end.
