As someone who lives up north and fished allot of finesse try using a 6.3.1 gear ratio or even a 5. Also using a medium light is what I use!

So I caught a 5 younder with a wacky rigged senko last week but I was using a revo x Baitcaster; they used too pitch and flip back in the day and they always recommend a higher speed reel when fishing thick cover to get them out of there; then there’s burning crankbaits which can be fun too!

Lemme know how those abu spinning reels feel. Don't have much confidence in their spinners besides the zenon. But that's just my Daiwa/shimano bias coming through. Have just never heard much feedback toward abu, reels but they keep making them so they must be viable in some form.

Man those new Abu’s are insane looking. Giving the new Quantum spinning reels a run for their money. I will say the Abu’s look better but the Quantum’s are smoother, a lot smoother. You should do a comparison, Quantum vs Abu $100-150 range.
