It's easier to do it the way he did it. It's best to have a wipe and open mouth when doing it, of course it can differ depending on your vocal type (Bass, Baritone, Tenor, etc..) and Variations of vocal types (Low Tenor, Mid Tenor, Lyric Tenor, High Tenor, Countertenor, etc..). A Countertenor could be a Baritone or Tenor. Mitch is more likely to be a High Tenor who is also a Countertenor.

They are in the cave that the Batman movie used. It's just southwest of the Hollywood sign. Notice the camera work (since they are singing about Mary) when Kirstin turns, putting her back to the cave entrance, (at your 5:04 marker) the light from the entrance creates a halo around her head. Hello Larry. Love your reaction and the joy of listening to Pentatonix. Just a beautiful rendition of this by Pentatonix. This is just astounding - the arrangement, the layering, the call and response and building to the crescendos. Then the solos - Scott so smooth and rich, Avi so deep and warm, Kirstin sharp and belting, Kevin with the beating, the percussion and his own solo, and then Mitch with his voice so angelic and pure and soaring and holding that note while the others layer beneath him. Another PTX masterpiece.

I knew there would be so much meat on this one for you to enjoy! Happy that you finally got it past the copyright police. This was one of the first songs PTX did that featured a singing solo for Kevin. It blew us all away! Since then he's had opportunities to showcase his singing voice in a number of their arrangements. In the early days Kevin and Avi lived together, and apparently it was Avi who helped Kevin develop that talent and the confidence to sing professionally. Great reaction, as always.

This song is special to me because it's my first PTX Christmas song I've ever heard. That night I found that, I listened to it 1 billion times no joke. I was shocked by so much power. Because of this group, my passion for singing has came back stronger after a long break. Kevin is incredible here. Just after he finished his line he went back to beatboxing. This is massive talent. Every time I listen to this song I get goosebumps! It’s not just the words but the questioning tone of the voices singing. It’s like they are asking Mary was there any sign or feeling of the wonders that her son would do later in his life. Kinda wish you'd react twice to each video. There's an Irish guy that runs through them twice. You could react to the beauty & complexity of beatboxing & background vocals first time through, then play it again and react to the solos. I'd really like to know what you think of every aspect of each song. Including the solo performances. In the reactions I've watched so far, I have no idea what your assessment of them are or how you feel they add (or don't add) to the sound that brings you goosebumps time & again. From comments I've read, the cave is the one they used for the Batman show in the 60's. And when they filmed this video, the only lights they used were the candles. I think, if I'm remembering correctly, it was a 4-6 hour shoot. And they also had albums to sign. In regards of the copyright gods, it's not PTX, they fight the label on this, all of the time. They want people to react to their music. IMO, the label is being stupid. The more they block reactors, the less exposure PTX gets.
