That may be why you feel so connected to her music, she pulls from a time that has been (in my opinion) washed away with following generations. I'm 62, when I ordered when we all fall asleep and played it front to back in my car, by the last 3 songs not only was my soul brought back to life, but I was crying for like 30 minutes afterwards Billie & Finneas are true genuis and the real deal !

I was on my lunch break at work and surfing the internet I stumbled upon this video by a girl I knew nothing about. I began eating a sandwich and started this song for background. I was immediately compelled to pay attention. I felt strong emotional connection to this kid. When she sang nothing is better sometimes, I felt a tear on my cheek. I've never looked back.

Its not special effects, and she has actually talked about how that liquid Hurt her eyes and it was hard to keep them open. They only did one take. You should watch the video on how they made the music video. Pretty interesting 😊

actually it is. There's multiple behind the scenes videos that show plastic tubes working with an air pump that drives the black liquid through her face and then they removed the tubes with vfx

In her documentary you can see the making of this video, it was all her idea and she did have that liquid in her eyes and some tubes connected to make it spill down her face. She also instructed how she want's the video to be made,frame by frame. I love how unique she is and how she has no definitive genre of music, she experiments and enjoy's it. Finneas is awesome, his production is beautiful and compliments her perfectly. Also his singing in the back adds depth to the song. They are a fantastic duo ❤

There's a great scene - I think possibly in the documentary The World is a Little Blurry - where she having her mom sit in for where Billie would be as Billie films her desires for the video for the director. I think this was one of the last videos that wasn't directed by Billie, but she definitely had a strong hand in it. And for the liquid, they both drained some of the liquid from the glass so it looked like she downed the glass, but then there were tubes by her eyes and they pushed the fluid through. She's talked about how painful it was and also how nasty it tasted. I think it had charcoal to provide the blackness.

This was actually done all in one take. there is a making of video for this music video and they tell you how they did it all. there were two people below her holding a bucket so most of that drink went into it, but she still got some in her mouth and swallowed it. There's no CGI in this at all except to edit out the tubs in the corners of her eyes and the tube in the glass. You should check out the making of video though for this :)

It’s about a toxic relationship. Realizing that it’s toxic..but still jumps in to it. You can see that she just looks at the drink for a while..pondering..hesitates a bit before actually deciding to drink it in. The drink symbolizes that toxicity that she willingly takes in to herself..and then that sludge comes pouring out of her…leaving that relationship

I didn't know where else to put this but I thought you'd see a comment on your latest video. I can't recommend Blue October strongly enough. They're extremely underrated and not universally known so you may not get many recommendations for them, but no band evokes emotion like them and I think you'd really enjoy their lead singer's story. To get a broad range of their music, I recommend "Hate Me" (their most famous radio hit), "The Worry List" (IMO their best song) and "Fear". I hope I get to see you review them!
