My biggest Bluegill came out of lake mendota and was 11 3/4" & I thought it might be a state record, but it wasnt full of eggs and those records go by weight anyways.

I used to fish MENDODA IN the 70’s for nice perch,and BIG GILLS! HAVE NOT BEEN BACK SINCE.

I fish in Cambridge on a very nice deck.. I love fishing bluegills, I started using small fresh shrimp, caught some pretty nice keepers, yes I'm female and love to fish, if only I had a boat I'd fish from sun up to sundown.. I live in Jefferson, I don't like river fishing and I'm surrounded by them, love lakes under tree's they love or ponds... Thank you for the video.

Hi Larry: I have fished the Madison lakes for a long time. I think I am up to 6 Gills over 10”. Last year the big one was 11 1/4”. All caught on 4’ to 5’6” ultra light rods. All big ones go back with keepers in the 7.5” to 8.5” range. Madison is a great place to fish, but don’t give away all our secrets. 😊 Stay safe, God Bless!
