If watching Brian Johnson so naturally hanging out with everyone from Lars to Dolly in his own gregarious way doesn’t put a smile on your face, you must be dead! What a top bloke.

Did you see the AC/DC interview on 60 minutes a few months back? Even my wife who doesn't really follow AC/DC (or hard rock/metal full stop) absolutely loved the band members and watched the whole interview with a smile on her face and said to me what lovely guys they are. I said yeah, they are very down to earth. Hope AC/DC and Metallica tour Australia again!

Brian, in the mid 1980s I owned a rehearsal studio in San Carlos CA and had the pleasure of renting out a Sunday morning slot to Metallica just before they became famous. I should've hung around and watched them rehearse if I would've known what was to come!

I remember doing the original construction on that tenant improvement in their HQ in Marin County. The plans were non descript, started the project and quickly realized it was for Metallica, holy crap. I remember the diamond plate and graffiti on the walls stood out. Didnt get to meet them but was still a cool experience.

I'm met the boys from Down Under when they were recording in Vancouver at Little Mountain Sound for their big comeback album Razor's Edge. It was all very interesting to watch them work and be so focused on doing good work and treating the staff there like people, not paid servants. Chris Slade was a lot of fun to talk to as I was a great fan of jazz and reminisce about his time in other bands and some of the tours they did with other Canadian bands.

I had a beer with Lars a few years ago. I admitted to him I was more of a Zeppelin fan, and missed out on the speed metal thing. He was slightly offended, but didn't cancel our conversation. I told him I recently saw them in San Diego, and they were awesome. That helped. He seemed genuine and not a premadonna
