Good morning Lars, does it support ONVIF and have you tried importing it into Unifi Protect ?
@LarsKlintTechАй бұрын
Reolink WiFi cameras don't support ONVIF, so I didn't add that to the video. Full video on the Protect ONVIF support in the works though. 🙂

I think many of us would love an ONVIF solar Wi-Fi camera that works with UniFi It’s disappointing that uniFi haven’t produced something along these lines, it’s a big hole in their camera line.
@LarsKlintTechАй бұрын
@biochemscott It's a really tricky problem to solve, and I would imagine UniFi won't compromise on user experience, such as running out of power early, or having a limited recording schedule. I can see why they haven't got one, but would love to see one nonetheless 🙂

@@biochemscott look back at Chris from Crosstalk's videos there used to be a way to solve this but I think all of those products are EOL now. Oh, and Lars has his gate cam setup. :)

I have the trackmix solarcamera from Reolink and pretty happy with it, but there are som drawback. When it gets cold (under +5 c) it don`t take charge from the solarpanel and i have to take it down and warm it and charge it inside from now to the spring. The lens get foggy with high moisture in the air. And the detecting distance is way to short, prox 10m, should have been at least 50m.
@LarsKlintTechАй бұрын
Considering I have just put it up in spring here, I haven't tested the winter conditions, but really appreciate the heads up. Not charging on the solar would be a pain.

Great video, really appreciate the review on a solar-powered, wi-fi camera. I have a site with a use case that would fit this, and like you said, most brands of this spec are garbage. This is so close to being a viable alternative that if it had ONVIF support I would probably get it. The site in question will eventually get a Ubiquiti Protect system and we'll most likely spring for cabling it at the same time so a G5 PTZ camera can be used, but this could have made for a functional alternative in the meantime.
@LarsKlintTechАй бұрын
Yeah, that is one of the reasons it is "almost perfect" although I didn't mention ONVIF. It is a great camera, and I have used it for about two weeks with no issues (other than learning to manage battery life).

Seems similar size to my Ring solar panels - which bodes well, those things are fantastic
@LarsKlintTechАй бұрын
@@KeranMcKenzie yeah, this is 6W, so quite large. It charges about 25% in a day when not recording, so 5000mAh or so.

Was that an Ibis in the night time footage? I'm not sure what I'm more jealous for, the camera or the fact you have a tennis court 😅
@LarsKlintTechАй бұрын
No, it is a possum. I have now learnt it uses the fence to get up into a tree 😁 The best tennis court is someone else's though. So. Much. Maintenance.
@Stephen-JonesАй бұрын
@@LarsKlintTech So your next robot is a tennis court maintenance one? 🎾😁
@LarsKlintTechАй бұрын
@@Stephen-Jones If one existed, yes. There is only a ball-picker-up-robot, which is not super useful. I'd love to find a clean up robot that would remove debris and rake the court, and maybe even clean the lines.

Will Unifi adopt this camera ?, thanks
@LarsKlintTechАй бұрын
No, this isn't ONVIF compliant, which none of the Reolink WiFi cameras are.
@MedicNYCАй бұрын
Since you have a protect system, does this camera support onvif and have you been able to connect this camera to your protect system?
@LarsKlintTechАй бұрын
Unfortunately the Reolink WiFi cameras don't support ONVIF, so I didn't include it. I am working on a full video on the ONVIF support in Protect.

@@LarsKlintTech Thanks for the reply. Too bad about their WiFi cameras. That's the one type of camera really missing from the Unifi lineup.
@LarsKlintTechАй бұрын
@@MedicNYC I have heard this before too. I think it is a difficult problem to solve in a way that guarantees the quality user experience of Unifi devices. I hope they give it a go too though.

All of those. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz as bandwidth, and IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax for wireless standards.

The solar panel? You can choose to include it, but some people won't need it, so it's great they aren't forced to buy it.
